Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: So, I dropped a bomb in last week's Sunday Post. This week has been dealing with the fallout. The legal separation papers were signed and notarized on Monday and the car titles were also done. Here in NC the divorce isn't officially official until we've been separated a year, so the papers will be filed with the court next October and that will be that. I've dropped him from Verizon and he went to T-Mobile. I've changed payment account numbers on various accounts to my own checking account, but the mortgage still came out of his last Friday, so I still need to call Wells Fargo about that. I still need to handle our life insurance policies and a few other things need to be tied up like car insurance and his IRA which will happen this week. I went downtown and turned in the paperwork to get the house in my name only, so that's also done. Honestly, this is all such a pain in the ass that if I ever get into another relationship, I will stay single and keep all my shit separate. I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to change my name back to my maiden name, but I've been married twice now and that seemed like a burden I didn't want to deal with. Besides, 3 of my spawn have the same last name (eldest spawn has ex #1's last name) and I actually like how my first name sounds when combined with my current last name better than my maiden name. So it remains. I am actively looking for a job, but having no luck. I waived alimony even though I am entitled to it, so I will definitely need an income or my inheritance coming next year won't last.
The rest of the week: Monday Trip had a dental app't in the morning then I dropped him home before doing the legal paperwork. I drove Kyle to and from work each day. He'll be working OT this coming week so that'll be a bit tougher. Last Sunday, when Anna, DJ, and Trip went to a cookout at my stepdaughter's place, the power went out briefly (so Kyle couldn't video game lol) so I took him to the high school to practice. We'll work in more practice time and maybe by the New Year he'll be driving on his own. I honestly don't mind driving him too much because that's when I listen to my audiobooks, but he'll need to get behind the wheel sooner or later, so there's that. Anyway, what else? DJ flew back to Alaska on Tuesday and Anna was sick most of the week. Combo Covid and flu test came back negative and she went back to work Friday. I drafted and scheduled a bunch of blog posts. Grocery pick up was Thursday then Trip and Anna went to Kyleigh's soccer game. Friday the grandkiddos came for a sleepover (they were all coughing so I hope we don't get sick lol) and then I dropped them at the soccer fields Saturday for Kyleigh's tournaments. Trip and Anna stayed and I came back home to finish the cleaning then I engaged in Battle III of Leafageddon before showering, getting jammies on, and telling everyone to eat up the leftovers in the fridge. I also did some laundry. Today I'm hoping to relax. I'm always hoping that on Sunday and never really get to as there is always something to do around here. But I'm really going to try to just sit around and read. Or watch tv. Not sure how that will go, but I'm ready to jump into my huge backlog that's been piling up these last two years.
Touching Nature: Still no rain. After having the wettest year ever (or so it seemed) we've been without rain since Helene. Everything is dry, dry, dry. Yesterday I engaged in Battle III of Leafageddon and cleared the driveway of the Leafy Horde. I also cleared out the Acorn Battalion from the backyard. Weather has been gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
Book News: Audiobooks are the norm. I'm hoping to get back into reading physical books as well as ebooks. I have a huge backlog to get through and instead of stressing about it, I'm looking forward to it. Progress.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Criminal Minds.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

ReplyDeleteYou handled a lot. There is lots of paperwork and decisions. I haven't had to do leaves yet. I got my stuff organized for November reading. I added the BBNYA stuff to the schedule. It's going to be a busy month. Happy Halloween!
