Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Okay, so Anna and I drove (well, I drove, she rode) to Ohio last Sunday in her Civic. The weather was gorgeous and other than a construction delay in WV the traffic was just about perfect. Mr Puggles was a good rider and we only needed to stop a few times for potty breaks and once for gas. We got to mom's around 5:30, unloaded, and had potato soup that mom made for us. Delicious! It was hot. And she only had the windows open, no A/C. Why, mom, why?! Needless to say, the upstairs of the old farmhouse was HOT. Anna had all the fans in her room so I slept on the couch. It was not restful. I couldn't even leave the downstairs windows open as it cooled down because it was supposed to rain. Fyi, it did not, in fact, rain. sigh Anyway...

Monday Anna drove me into town to pick up my rental from Avis. Do not rent from Avis. That's all I'm going to say on that subject as it pisses me off. So, I got the car, drove back to the farm, and now it's raining. A lot. Because of course it is. So I open up the big barn and back into one of the bays. Which is nice but the doors are a pain in the ass. Not one of my dad's better designs. Sorry dad. So I load up what I can into the RAV4 (which is a nice car btw) then close up the big barn, say my goodbyes, and take off. I stop down the road at Dollar General for a drink and some candy bars, get back out to the car to leave, and break my relatively new sunglasses in half. W-T-F So I go back in and buy a new pair. Ugh. Then off I go. Into the rain all the way from NE OH to Charleston WV before the sun finally comes out. See why I grabbed a new pair? I need them or the sun gives me migraines. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful except for that one instance in VA where a car was trying to merge into my lane from an on ramp, completely freaked out, slammed on their brakes even though I gave them plenty of room and I nearly rammed into them. Got the old heart pumping and the curse words flying, let me tell you. Made it home around 5:30 even though I left at like 10. I may have been doing 85 for a good portion of the way. Shhhh. Unloaded, hubby followed me to drop off the rental (after hours), then we picked up Taco Bell for dinner. Kyle took the day off since his jaw was still bothering him, so Trip wasn't home all by himself. LOL

I spent the rest of this week trying to get caught up with stuff and not be wore out from 1000 miles of travel in 2 days.

Tuesday I had to drop off Artemis at the vet because her ear was all puffy. Turns out she had a hematoma that needed surgery to fix. They did it that afternoon and kept her overnight. So the cats were allowed to roam the house all day, night, and half of Weds. lol

Weds I got some shit done then picked up Artemis. She's a bit whiny and I'm not sure if it's her ear bothering her or the fact that Anna and Mr. Puggles are gone. Could be a bit of both. Watched the Hurricanes beat the Rangers in game 1 in Round 2 of the play offs. Woot!

Thursday was grocery pick up (and some other errands prior to that) except they were late. Because that's the way my life is. I needed to be home by 11:30 (I always pick up between 10-11) because the guy was coming to install our correct bathroom window sashes. After our errands, picking up food at Freddy's, and waiting at Walmart for a bit Trip and I decided to head home for the window guy and I'd go back whenever Walmart finally texted. The guy was already here, so he popped the sashes in, we unloaded our stuff from BJ's and Walmart texted that my order was finally ready. Oh, goodie. So off I went again. On the way home I swung into CVS to pick up a prescription for Trip and after we unloaded the Pilot yet again and I put everything away I was glad to get into my jammies and veg out.

Friday I did some blog stuff and then had lunch and a Criminal Minds binge. Just because. I was so tired I didn't even stay up after the 1st period of the Hurricanes/Rangers play off game. Which they won. WOOT!

Saturday I did all the cleaning and some other stuff. I'm so tired and my back and feet hurt. lol Today I ain't doin' nuttin' but watch game 3 of the Hurricanes/Rangers.

Have I mentioned that I'm still driving Kyle to work in the mornings? He rides home with his dad though. So I get up at 5:45 to take him to work (hubby gets up at 3:30 to be at work by 5:00) and I'm back home around 7:00 to get my day started. Not horrible, but tiring since I don't nap.

This coming week, weather permitting (rain is forecasted), Trip and I are going to work outside. We'll see how that goes.

Touching Nature: Hot. Fucking hot. Fuck this shit. Maybe I should move to Alaska.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: No matter how you look at it or how much you try to justify it, 1980 was not 20 yrs ago. Cry with me.

  2. You really packed a lot into this week and it was HOT. I'm good with some rain and cooler temps this week. I'm still doing pickups and that's always a bit iffy with the timing and getting the right things.
