Hello and Happy Sunday!

Hello May!

On the Home Front: Hubby and I worked all last Sunday afternoon on that damn stump and still don't have it out of the hole. But at least it's finally broke free. I think it's cursed or something. I mean, I have never seen a tree as big below the dirt as above. And for about 5 feet give or take. WTAF That's a serious tap root there, by the Book Gods!

Monday was my 2,000th post. Imagine if I had posted every single day for the almost 11 yrs I've been blogging. That would be some serious posting. Trip and I went out (after Sugarcube's vet appt) and split two big logs then I said I was done. Damn those things are heavy.

Tuesday I did some blog work and had someone come out to spray for bugs outside since I found a tick crawling on me. Fuck those things! We live in the woods so it's almost as bad as trying to hold back the ocean with a broom, but it cuts down on them for about a month.

I mowed and Trip did the weed eating on Weds. The weed eater started smelling funny, like something inside was burning, so he didn't get quite finished. Looks like hubby needs to take it apart and poke around in its innards. I finally spied a Tiny Patron! So I cleaned and filled the feeders for them. Well, for it. I've only seen the one so far.

Grocery pick up Thursday. We tried Japanese food on Friday. Not a fan. Saturday was the usual cleaning. I'll probably laze around today. Can't mess with the stump because we had to take the tractor tires to the tire place to have them resealed, so no Ford tractor to pull on it and the Kubota isn't big enough. Fine by me. It can just sit there in its giant fucking hole and think about what a pain in the ass its been.

Also, the Carolina Hurricanes are in the playoffs! WOOT!

Next week I really need to wash the vehicles. The pollen makes them look like demons have been shitting sulfur all over them.

Touching Nature: The pollen is fucking awful. Trip and I were hacking Weds and we don't even have allergies! Tiny Patron(s?) have returned! Weather was fucking gorgeous this week. Except for the evil pollen.

Book News: I'm caught up on my reviews!! *does dance*

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching Without A Trace.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Still enjoying Wordle.

Randomness:  For my coffee loving friends. lol

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When I'm driving and I want to get in front of a semi-truck I wait until I can see both headlights in my rear view mirror. Respect the big rigs!

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Wow! 2000 posts!! That really is a lot. I've managed 23 last month and felt very chuffed with myself. Still a long way to go to 2000 though!

Glad to hear you are catching up with reviews, I' try to stay as much on track as possible. Otherwise I will never get back on.

Have a good week and happy reading and blogging!

  2. Congratulations on being all caught up on your reviews - that's awesome! (And I'm envious. I don't want to count how many reviews I'm behind on; it's too discouraging.)

Best of luck with the stump. It looks like a monster. And I hope your allergies improve soon. The pollen here is pretty bad, too. The cars are coated in it, and even staying indoors, I notice it.

Have a great week, both reading-wise and on the home front.

  3. You got a lot accomplished with it being in the upper 80s about half the days. It's been a weird pollen year. Luckily, my perennials don't require much work now that I planted them the last 3 years. I definitely prefer Chinese to Japanese food although we like some of the Thai dishes, too. I'm working on learning to make them at home. Happy May Day!

  5. Congrats on catching up on your reviews. I can only imagine what it's like to have books stacked up that I am obligated to read.

  6. What an industrial sounding week! Our garden is so small and as it was a rented property before we bought it is full of concrete so we have fake grassed over the top as we can't get to any soil 😂 I tell you what though it's very low maintenance 😂

2000 posts is amazing! I've only been blogging since June 2021 so have a way to go yet 😂

    Have a great week
