Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Appointments, errands, and lazing around basically made up my week. Spring has officially sprung and Trip and I will need to get cracking on our projects soon. So much to do and no desire to do any of it. lol
I treated myself to some birthday cookies from Cheryl's Cookies and while I was looking around I saw a 36 count box on sale so I bought it too. Holy shit. These are the most delicious cookies ever! And not cheap, so I'll be keeping an eye out for specials. lol
The birthday box is bit empty here. I may have eaten a bunch already. Anna has had several also, but I don't think anyone else has tried any. There are a lot of gingerbread cookies in the box. I wonder if that's why it was on special? They're tasty though.
Hubby had to go to work this week at 5am and Kyle wasn't needed until 6am, so I took him to work a couple days which meant getting up at 4:30 and that made me tired all day. However, on Friday I did stop at Walmart to get some soup for Anna (she's got a nasty cold - Covid home test was negative) and I found some new shorts. Thank fuck! I've been looking for ages and my old shorts are really old. Like, about 15 yrs old and are falling apart. I'm so picky about my shorts, that I've never found replacements I liked. These are very similar to my old shorts and the best part? They have pockets! My old ones didn't and I hated that. I've died and gone to heaven. Needless to say I bought a few extra pairs this time. I've learned my lesson. lol
Touching Nature: It's Spring in NC. It's coolish at night, warmish during the day. Windy, rainy, sunny, who knows what or when? But the dogwoods are blooming and trees are budding, so YAY! Of course that also means everything is slowly being coated in pollen, too. Or as I like to call it, tree sperm.
Book News: Slowly catching up on my reading but still have too many reviews to write.
Book News: Slowly catching up on my reading but still have too many reviews to write.
Don't Touch That Dial!: We finished The Mentalist and I'm sad. I have a crush on Patrick Jane though if he were my boyfriend in real life I'd probably end up murdering him. lol We decided to do a rewatch of Without A Trace since we never actually finished it when we were originally watching it.
At the Flicks: Nope. Trip and Kyle went to see The Batman yesterday. They enjoyed it. Hubby and I didn't feel like seeing it and decided to wait for the DVD.
Cyberspace Playground: Still enjoying Wordle.
Randomness: As if someone here would take someone else's books. Come on! We're not assholes.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Did you know mice love the cabin air filter in vehicles? We live in the woods, so we have a lot of mice. After finding the critters gnawing on our filters I took some empty pill bottles, drilled holes in the lids, stuffed them with cottonpads, and soaked them in peppermint essential oil. Then I put them in the glove boxes. We'll see if that helps until the snakes come out in the warmer weather to make a meal of those furry fuckers.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I've become addicted to Wordle and have been doing Wordle2 as well, which has 6-letter words instead of 5. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of that! I play Wordle 3x a day since I'm apparently using a different app for my desktop, iPad, and phone. lol But now I want to check out Wordle2.
DeleteThat e-card is really brilliant. Nope, do not touch the books!!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a bit behind with reviews, will try my utmost best to update a bit this week.
Have a good week and enjoy the cookies.

Happy Spring! I'm sort of looking forward to all the yard work. lol I love the cookies. I tend to make small batches myself so we have different flavors.
