--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Before I forget here are my two alcohol bottle turned soap dispensers that I made last week. I had a different bottle picked out for my dish soap (green stuff) but the pump wouldn't screw on it. Wahhh! Maybe I can find a pump with a different size screw on cap. Why can't all alcohol bottles have the same size diameter opening?

Since I'm doing pictures, here's the newest addition to our family: a 25 ton log splitter. TSC didn't have a cover for it, so we threw a tarp over it until a cover comes from Amazon on Monday. Good thing, too. It started raining about an hour after we got this bad boy home yesterday.

It seems like this month is going so fast and I'm not really getting anything done. I did decide on a washer and we'll pick it up this week. We'll have the grandkiddos tomorrow and we need to pick up the Accord since we had to have some minor engine work done on it. This is after we had to have some exhaust pipe work done when the leak (turns out there were two of them) was gassing us out inside the vehicle. *cough gasp* Poor thing is a 97 and we turned it over to 300,000 miles in December. I hope that's the last repair for awhile. *fingers crossed* I'd like it to last us a bit longer while I search for a used CR-V for hubby. No rush though. He has the truck to drive, too. Not as good mileage, but we aren't strapped for wheels. In any case, he uses the Accord to go to work when he's not driving the truck and I use it to transport the dogs to the vet and doggie day care. Because it's not the most pretty car. Okay, it's kinda crappy. lol I need to get Kyle out there driving it, utilizing his permit so he can go take his damn driver test. FFS, he's 19 and a half! *exasperated sigh*

Hubby had a job interview on Thursday and the owner will make his decision by the end of the month. Kinda hoping it'll be before then because two weeks is a long time to wait. GAH! If you have any good juju, prayers, or posivibes to spare please think of us. The job is an attractive one (good pay, excellent hours, and hubby can use all of the skills he's learned over the years) and hubby is really hoping to get it. It's actually perfect for him and the company and we'll be really bummed if it falls through.

Touching Nature: Rain, then not, warmish, rain, cold. In other words...January. But my daffodils are coming up and some of them are blooming! NOOOO! Way too soon! I'm throwing some old sheets over them tonight and most of this week since we're supposed to get down into the 20s at night.

Book News: I think I have 11 reviews to write. I just can't seem to catch up. I need an uninterrupted day to just write them all in one sitting.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Nothing but some sports. Oh! I did watch part of Dirty Dancing and then part of Pretty Woman that were on tv last night before Kyle came in asking if he could play on one of the video consoles.

At the Flicks: Nothing yet

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness: How I feel when I have to drink from a regular tea cup that's much smaller than my bigass mug.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: This world is so fucked up that you have to find something that gives you joy or go crazy. So, find something then love the shit outta it no matter what anyone says. Unless it's illegal. Don't do illegal shit.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  3. I have been enjoying the warmer weather and glad it's not too much rain. I hope the cold spell coming is short. I've been busy with various outdoor work. I can't believe the broccoli kept growing and we ate the last of it this week from what I planted in Sept.

You've been reading the lovely Annette Marie books. I've been listening on audio so I have to wait for some of them yet. I'm tempted to read them if I wasn't so behind on some ARCs.

I wish you the very best on his job hunt. Have a wonderful week!
