The Write Reads Appreciation

Oh, The Write Reads/Dave, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways...wait. Am I really going to start this off in so cheesy a fashion? Well, I do like cheese. Mmmm...cheese. Focus!

Okay, when Dave first contacted me back on August 24th, 2018 his Twitter DM mentioned many things he wanted to do. First, he wanted to create a blog hub for book bloggers and he did! Starting out with the #blogoftheday he had so many people joining TWR gang that he decided to add a #reviewoftheday. Two tweets a day and the exposure is fantastic! I've been blogging for nearly 8 years now and I rarely get as many views as I do on my featured days. Wowzers!

In addition to the Twitter posts, he mentioned possibly giving out awards to the members who participate the most as well as other award types. He hasn't gotten that far yet, BUT he's done something we love even more. Blog tours.

Yep. He organized a blog tour with Kristin Ward back in April with 100 bloggers, but he didn't stop there. He set up an #UltimateBlogTour at the end of June with Ben Galley that had close to 140 bloggers. Holy shit, it was huge! And he's not stopping there. He has several other tours planned for this year (stay tuned on The Write Reads Tours for what's coming up) and big plans yet to come in 2020. He's unstoppable!

Dave has worked his tushie off (metaphorically speaking) setting up the coolest of giveaways from authors, publishers, and the most awesome Folio Society. I mean, seriously. Books and swag and bookish stuff, oh my! Not just once or twice. Oh, no. He has giveaways going all the time!

Dave may be the heart and soul of The Write Reads, but he couldn't do it without the TWR Gang. All of the bloggers who share tweets, visit the blogs, and comment help boost visibility for everyone. Way to go, my peeps!

Dave has brought together an amazing group of book bloggers who support each other. I love seeing the daily tweets and everyone's comments. Like I said, I've been around 8 years, but you know what they say about how you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Well, fuck those people. I'm old(ish), but I'm learning things from the newer bloggers even as they are learning from the old farts like me. It's awesome and I'm glad Dave made that first contact with me a year ago. He really stepped up to the plate and swung for the fence with The Write Reads and we wouldn't be where we are today without him. Here's to even more great things to come!
