Drusilla “Dru” Rathmore Davis is having some terrible luck starting her new life. Two cars stolen and a flat on the third one would make most people take it as a sign to turn around and rethink the new plan of settling in Blackwood Bay. But Dru is made of sterner stuff. She intends to claim the inheritance from the grandmother she never met or even knew about and that’s final. But so is death and people are dying. Can Dru figure out who the killer is before she’s the next victim?

If you’re looking for a paranormal cozy mystery with humor and great characters then look no further. Dru is a little slow on the uptake, but the rest of the story is mostly light-hearted and pretty fun entertainment. I say mostly, because people do die. Ouch. I really needed this after the duds I’ve finished recently. So, murders aside, this is just what the book doctor ordered. I look forward to more in this series.
