--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Semi-busy week with appt's for various people, grocery shopping, and picking up hubby's truck after repairs. We did a few small things around the house that needed doing and some unexpected Ellie babysitting yesterday. It is way too fucking cold to do outside projects. This coming week should not be as hectic.

I put my new Fitbit (thanks to my hubby for getting it for me for Christmas) on Monday and I have to say I really love it. This week has me getting in the habit of putting it on every morning when I wake up. I may try wearing it at night, but I think it'll bug me, so I'll abstain for now. I have noticed it counts steps really weird, so I'm not truly confident on the end of day total. What I do love is that it vibrates when I've been sitting for too long. A great reminder when I've been at my computer writing reviews or drafting posts and when I've been reading.

Touching Nature: It's so cold and windy my nipples are in danger of falling off. Well, they would be if I was stupid enough to be outside without 1000 layers on. On the plus side, we're supposed to be in the 60s by Thurs. WTF, Ma Nature, you cold sadistic bitch!

Book News: I set my Goodreads goal to 150. I'll adjust as needed. Not off to the greatest start. 7 days into 2018 and I haven't finished 1 book yet. Oh, well. It's waaaaaay early yet.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I have finally gotten back to watching Arrow. Our holiday schedule didn't allow for much binge watching. Hubby and I are still watching Season 1 of CSI. We'll get back to NCIS soon.

At the Flicks: Nothing at the moment. I wanted to see Jumanji, but we may not make it before it leaves theaters. Next up will be Black Panther.

Cyberspace Playground: Pokémon GO. Still. lol Though it does help with my Fitbit step count.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Never assume your car will not break down, so dress accordingly. Especially with these freezing temps. Do not run "a quick errand" in jammies , light jacket, no hat or gloves, and wearing flip flops. I will have to hunt you down and kick your ass if you do that, if you don't freeze to death first.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Love my Fitbit, and I only ever take it off to shower. I feel mine is accurate enough, but I suppose they'll never be 100%.

    1. I think if I had one that I could wear on my ankle I'd be more confident. But it counts steps when I'm standing still folding laundry. lol

  2. MY husband has a Fitbit and loves his. He walks so much at work, it's crazy. Enjoy all those new books. Happy reading.

    1. My husband walks a lot at work, too. He should really get one.

  3. What's your fitbit name?! We need to be friends. Look me up... I think you can find me via FB, seeing as I have no idea what my actual name is LOL! It can count steps really weird, but you can also modify it's sensitivity if you notice it's picking up on activities it shouldn't.

    Have a great week and stay warm! Also, I do remember my promise to be on you about writing this year... so you know, work on that plan ;) {{HUGS}}

    1. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Fitbits have names?! I have no idea how to look that up. lol

I'm clearing things up and should be ready to start writing (something, anything) in about a week or so. Woot!

  4. The Man got us Fitbits, too. We wear ours all the time except in the shower. I don't have any issues with wearing mine at night. I love how it tracks your sleep - specifically when I'm not sleeping. Just more evidence to show that something is going on with my sleep. Another blogger wears hers on her ankle to get accuracy with her steps. I like mine, although I don't like when I don't have a lot of steps. :/

    1. I probably should have gotten one that goes around my ankle, but oh, well. I like the one on my wrist even if it counts steps strangely. lol I only managed to hit 10K one day so far. That's ok. I'll get there on a more consistent basis eventually. It's a journey, not a race. :)
