--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Can you believe October is almost over? I was folding my Halloween kitchen towels to put in the drawer and it dawned on me that in a few days I'll need to put those away and get my Thanksgiving towels out. What? O.O

I've been reading and writing reviews and trying to get things ready for NetGalley November so I can move on with other things. I really wanted to complete the challenge this year. I know it's a challenge I set myself each year, but each time I've fallen short. This year I'm close. Only 9 books left to read and I'll have reviews for all days except Sundays. I got this handled.

There's not much other news. We still haven't seen the grandkiddos after we cut their parents out of our lives. The lies, bullshit, and stress were just too much to do anything else. We miss the little boogers something fierce and hope one day they'll come look us up. In the meantime, we get baby cuddles from Little Miss Cheeks, our godgranddaughter. Is that a thing? If not, it is now. She spent the night Tues night, I watched her for a bit Thurs afternoon and she'll be spending the night this Tues. She's a little punkin.

Touching Nature: Gorgeous. Mostly. We picked up walnuts. I put them in an old chinchilla cage to dry and be safe from squirrels. See? Hoarding stuff is totally a good thing. Because we haven't had a chinchilla in 17 years. lol

Book News: Are you ready for some reviews? Cuz I gots some coming up! I'm also gearing up for visiting again. Every time I sit down to visit blogs something comes up. But things are settling down, finally.

Don't Touch That Dial!: World Series and not much else this past week.

At the Flicks: Closer...

Cyberspace Playground: Still addicted to Wordscapes. I hope they have an update soon or I'll finish the entire thing.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Reach for the stars no matter what your age. Don't use your age as an excuse. You'll be the same age whether you reach or not so I say stretch for it!

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  2. Sorry about the grandkiddos, that makes me sad but I know you did what you had to, it was a big sacrific but I think it was best for you all.

THOSE CHEEKS! I love that kid! She is adorable!!!!

Those Walnuts are huge! Do you have to wear a hard hat walking out of your house? Good Gravy!

Glad things settled down for you, if you could pass that over this way, that would be great! I only have one more week of crazy and I am hoping we can go back to our normal lol.

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

    1. It sucks huge hairy sweaty shitcovered donkey testicles. But what else could we do? We can only hope that the grandkiddos grow up to be better than their parents.

When I was picking them up it was windy and they were falling and I was like, this is it. Death by walnut. lol We need to take the husks off the walnuts and then they need to dry some more. We've never done this. I hope they don't kill us. lol

I'll try to send some normal your way. lol

Have an awesome week, Michelle! XOXO

  3. Aw, that's sad to hear about your grandkids.. :(
Those are walnuts? They are huge! They look like apples! Wow. Walnuts don't really grow here I guess, so I've only ever seen them at the shop.

    1. It sucks, but we're hoping when they're older they'll want to see us.

They are walnuts, but they have an outer husk we need to remove to reveal the shell. So, they look a lot bigger than they are. :)

  4. Little Miss Cheeks is beautiful! But I am sorry about not being able to see your grandchildren, I can only imagine how hard it is, but you did what you thought was best.

Enjoy your new book and your week ahead. :)

    1. It was the hardest decision we've ever had to make. It still sucks and will continue to suck. *sigh*

Thanks! I'm looking forward to the new books. :)

  5. Love the supernatural meme. I just this weekend caught up on the first episode of the current season. Family stuff can be rough; hope you get to see the grandkids sooner rather than later. Wishing you the best for the coming week. p.s. I want to ask what's a chinchilla (not familiar to my part of the world)...but I'll google it.

  6. Oh that little one is so cute! Glad you are still able to get some cuddles in with a little one. I have gotten a bit behind on reviews and the thought of catching up is like...ugh. lol.

    Have a great week!

  8. I highly doubt I will complete my NetGalley challenge either. I'm at 23 or something right now. I really want to meet my goal for it next year. I am a little behind now on reviews and I just want to keep reading!
