--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: It's been acorn season for awhile now and I wish it would stop. The back deck is in constant need of sweeping and the thunk, clunk, and roll of acorns (and occasional crash) on the roof is getting annoying. Other than that, all is mostly well.

Touching Nature: The weather has been gorgeous. Very Fall-like. 70s during the day and 40s at night with a few nights in the upper 30s. That's a bit chillier than ususal for NC, but we're back to more normal temps. And it's been sunny. Like I said, gorgeous. Hubby and I have been picking up walnuts from a few of the producing trees in our woods. You know, we've lived here 17 yrs and never bothered to pick them up before. But this year we decided to harvest and see what we can do with them.

In other news, Leafageddon has commenced. Hubby's co-worker let us borrow his backpack blower and now I'm ruined. I want one! But they're like $300, so it'll have to wait.

Book News: I had 12 reviews to write and I got that down to 4, but then I finished a book and now I have 5. Not bad. I'll get to them this week.

I don't have anything on the blog again this week, but the week after that will start my NetGalley November posts. I'm still reading books for them, but I have posts through the 16th ready to go.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I finished Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and last night we started Season 4. Two words...Ghost Rider! Woot! Hubby and I continue to nibble away at NCIS. We're in the middle of Season 10 now.

At the Flicks: Inching closer...

Cyberspace Playground: Nada

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes you just have to unplug and do something non-internet related. It's all about balance.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Ugghh...I hate it when acorns fall on your porch. You have to sweep up the porch constantly when that happens!

  3. Leafageddon. LOL Too funny. They keep falling in my pool. And I have pecans. The shells hurt my feet and they sound like bombs when they hit the roof. Making good money on them though.

  5. Your leafageddan always makes me chuckle. We don't do anything with our leaves but run them over with the lawn mower. I really need to try Agents of Shield as I haven't yet. :)

    Have a great week,
    Stormi

  6. I just hated stepping on acorns barefoot in the yard. It hurts! I look forward to what Leafageddon brings this year. I don't think I've paid attention before? We don't have massive leaf drops, so they just hang around for a while before blowing off somewhere...like to your house! LOL We are having mornings in the 40s and low 50s and days in the 80s. Allegedly we are getting a cold front tonight. We'll see. I also got my reviews to write down to one and now I've finished two books (and soon a third - I'm sure I'll finish it tonight).
