Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: I survived the week. Yay! Did a lot of running around and I boxed up most of the stuff in the guest room that belongs to my stepdaughter and her family. They have one more week to come and get all their stuff before we rent a U-Haul and dump it at her mom's tiny place where they are staying. Again. Does that sound harsh? Sometimes you gotta just toss up your hands and say, "Fuck this shit!" Just because someone is family does not mean you have to put up with years of bullshit and immature, fucked up, bad decisions. Which we did. No more. There is a whole lot I could say about this situation, but I'm done. So far, it looks like we'll see the grandkiddos once a week, so we'll pick a day when hubby is off and have them for the day. That's all I care about at this point.
Touching Nature: The weather hasn't been too horrible. In fact, the temps have cooled down a bit and we're supposed to be in the 80s and even into the 70s for a little while. The eclipse was a bust here in NC. We had puffy clouds all morning, but when it was Eclipse Time storm clouds moved in and we didn't see shit. Oh, well. There's always 2024. We'll travel to my parents farm in Ohio for that one, where it's supposed to be totality. We've got 7 years to buy our eclipse glasses. lol
Book News: I finished two books! Woot! It's so nice getting back to reading. Still need to write the reviews but I'm not fussing over them.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I finished season 4 of our Star Wars:Clone Wars rewatch and are well into season 5. Hubby and I watched several NCIS. It's been nice just sitting and relaxing in front of the tv. Something I haven't been able to do for a very long time.
At the Flicks: Not yet...
Cyberspace Playground: Nada
Randomness: I wish I had photoshop skillz. And I wish I had thought of this first. LOL
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: No matter how painful, sometimes you just have to cut someone out of your life. At least as much as is possible. For your own sanity and health. Sometimes your hard decision is what the other person needs to get their shit together. Sometimes, not. But one can still hope.

From the library
Another suggested purchase that the library bought.
I've lost track of how many that makes, but I haven't been turned down yet.
I think the library is my Sugar Daddy.

I am so glad you are still able to see the grands. Sometimes we have to do things for our own sanity. *hugs my friend*

You shouldn't put up with anyone's bullshit and immature, fucked up, bad decisions -- no matter who they are to you. Unfortunately, we do again and again for significant others, siblings, and other family members. My mom and I had a ROUGH relationship for over a decade, and I finally gave her an ultimatum: She could accept me for me, and trust in the things I was telling her and believe in the person she KNEW me to be and not listen to the dramatic and embelished lies of other venomous family members OR she could lose the only daughter she had left - and this time by choice, not death, because I was not putting up with the emotional turmoil and pain any longer. That seemed to finally get the gears cranking. I am glad you will still get to see the grandkids - a tightrope of eggshells to walk. I hope this decision leads to a much better daily life for you.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing two books! I am doing good to finish two a month now. I did finish my audiobook tonight, though! It's been a long time coming. I hope you have a GREAT week!
