Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Was busy, but the week wasn't horrible. Until Fri morning when Old Man Toshiba didn't want to boot up. This has happened a lot (it's very ancient) and hubby can usually get it going again. But since today is his 6th 13-hr day in a row, I decided to wait until tomorrow to have him mess with it. I only use it for InD'tale stuff and I can actually do the work on my desktop. Gotta love Google switching users option. It's just more convenient to have the laptop so I can go to the living room if I want. Oh, and right after I tried giving Old Man Toshiba CPR (with no luck), my dryer then died. So I had to make an unplanned laundromat run to dry some loads. Guess what hubby and I are doing tomorrow? You guessed it! Taking apart the dryer to see if we can fix the problem. Considering it was making horrible death noises right before it went tits up, it could be a belt, a pulley or bearings. Won't know until we take it apart. It is also very old. And it has gotten a LOT of use. I just need it to hang in there a little bit longer. So cross your fingers and possibly your toes, but don't cross your eyes. I don't want to be responsible for them sticking that way.
Touching Nature: Hot. Too hot for NC in May. I'm officially voting Ma Nature off the island.
Book News: Read 9 books and hope to have the reviews written up today. And last night? While I was sitting on those 9 reviews? I started another book. *pssst* Don't tell Kim. hehe In my defense though, I had done a whole day of grandkiddo sitting yesterday and didn't feel like writing up anything.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I watched (well, technically it's a rewatch) a few episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars, but that's it. And WTF Netflix?! They're removing the series on June 7th?! I mean, I know he has the DVDs, but it's more convenient to stream.
At the Flicks: Not yet.
Cyberspace Playground: Watched a few Cinema Sins videos while I ate dinner a couple of nights this week, but other than that I was too busy to play around.
Randomness: Thanks go to my daughter for sharing this on my FB wall. LOL
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Want to make changes in your life? Try not to make too many at one time. Start small and work your way up to more. Give yourself a chance to adjust. Trust me. You'll have better success if you do.

Yikes, 9 reviews! Good luck! I have 3 to write (thankfully I have notes) and even that is making me nervous. Hope all your electrical problems get sorted without too much expense!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with those 9. I haven't been taking very good notes with my books lately but I am going to start going that again because I want to read as many books as I can over the summer and will need lots of notes :)
ReplyDeleteI love your wisdom this week, I needed that! :)
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!
Aw man, so much technology trouble! I hope this week's better in that regard :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I literally had the "it's just a dream" rage ending in a book! It was awful :D very good little comic :)
Nine books in a week!? I'm jealous of your supersonic reading abilities. I struggle to read nine books in a month!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week, and that your laptop and dryer get fixed soon!

I'll try not to cross my eyes, but it's part of my ritual. LOL Seriously, it really is! I hope you can fix the dryer and your computer will boot back up. Great books this week. And I love that cartoon.

You made me download Suffer a Witch and The Daemoniac. You and writing those reviews..I get nervous and I am not the one who is behind!!LOL Good luck battling technology and appliances!
ReplyDeleteOh crap. I'm going to have to buy the DVDs of Clone Wars now. I had no idea they were going to be taking them off and there's going to be a mutiny in my house if they're gone for good. Technical problems are such a pain. I just want things to work and I get so annoyed if they don't! Have a great week!
