My Rating ~ 3 bites

Laurel is a psychic and when she sees a vision of her beloved, the father of her baby, die in a dark alley, she tells her mom. Her mom has also had a vision about Nate’s death and she convinces Laurel that, in order to save him, she must break up with him. Though it breaks Laurel’s heart, she does. And spends twenty years regretting her decision. Until the day she sees him alive at Heart’s Chalice. What the heck is going on?!

Ok, lying is never a good idea. It’s even worse when a loved one lies. So don’t do it even if you think it’s for the best. Yeesh. This is an interesting take on alternate realities. It reminds me of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Parallels with Worf shifting between his own realities. And how geeky is it that I know the name of that episode without looking it up? *coughs* Moving on…

The pace is slow, but the idea of being able to shift between your realities is fascinating. Not a bad read, but not exceptional either. Kinda middle of the road. I enjoyed the different POVs (always a favorite of mine) and the psychic stuff. And can I just say that Laurel’s husband (in her main reality) is an abusive nutjob? Woo doggie.
