--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: So...last last week (4/10 week) was Spring Break for the kids and hubby took some vacay. We didn't get much done we wanted to get done and that's ok. Hubby shampooed the carpets and that's what really really needed done, so I'm happy. For now. This past week has been a bear and I'm nearly out of honey. There's nothing else to report on that front.

Touching Nature: Ma Nature is being typically moody. That is all.

Book News: Just when I think I have a handle on things, the handle falls off, like those window handles on older cars. Remember those? You'll be winding, winding, winding then...ploop. It comes off in your hand and you look at it in disbelief. Wtf? Yeah. That's me lately. But that's ok. I'll just screw that bitch back on and keep going. Or, if it won't go back on I'll redneck it because nothing will stop me from making that window go up and down. But with everything going on here I'm not answering comments or visiting again and I hate that. I hope to get back on track (again) soon.

Don't Touch That Dial!: A couple episodes of NCIS while hubby & I ate lunch, but that's it.

At the Flicks: We saw Power Rangers back on Fri 4/14 and we all enjoyed it. I liked it better than I thought I would. It was a nice surprise. So many great movies coming out this year. I'm not sure how we're going to afford them all. Guess we'll have to pick and choose.

Cyberspace Playground: Nada

Randomness: Publishers, editors, bookbloggers, authors; come one, come all! InD'tale Magazine is looking for #RONE2017 judges. Winners of the voting rounds go to the judges, so bookish peeps, this means YOU! Fill out the application today!
Free books to read and you only need to score them. No review needed! Plus, you get to say you were a judge for the prestigious RONE Awards. Their books are in your hands. Such power! Mwahahaha!! Ok, don't get too crazy. Still...free books!

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: You just gotta keep swimmin' because, frankly, I don't like the other choices. Though a raft would be nice now and again. With cup holders.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Ok, so I picked up a bunch of monster porn
before my free trial of KU expires next Saturday. With luck,
I'll get them all read and then I'll have enough books for my
Monster Porn Monday posts to last through October.
You're welcome.

  1. I love when I have nothing to report, it's like a silent calm even if the week was crazy and you can't figure out what to write and just say nothing to report. :)

I hated those handle things, my husband still has them on some of the trucks he drives. Ryan was fascinated by the idea of rolling down your window.

I hope you have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  3. I was just thinking last week that my students don't even know WTF those are. They've never lived without power windows. Stick a screwdriver in that thing and it's good to go! That's what my grandpa did to his stick shift when it came apart in his little Cadillac truck...not sure what it really was, but it drove all over the pastures! Then the driver door wouldn't open, so everyone got in and out through the passenger door...and then the floorboards started going, so he welded in some heavy wood squares! Oh, that little truck. I hope your week is better than last. *hugs*
