My Rating ~ 3 bites

SFPD detective, Katrina Hunter, stumbles upon a dead body on her way to Mexico on vacation. Well, stumble might not be the right word, since the body was in the water and she spotted it from her boat. Anyway, she dutifully reports it to Mexican authorities and gets drawn into an investigation that turns out to be much more than she bargained for. Not too hard since she wasn’t bargaining for anything to begin with.

I love all the boating info. Having only been on a few boats in my life I found it all fascinating. The murder mystery wasn’t as enthralling as I would have liked and there are a lot of characters in this tale, but despite a slow pace it pulls together in the end. Maybe a bit too tidily, but that’s ok. I’m not too sure about the romance that pops up between Kate and the hot detective, but I’ll let it slide. Gabe is an irritating character, but serves his purpose. Overall an enjoyable read.
