--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: I did a lot of stuff, ran errands, played chauffeur for Anna (when is she going to get her license anyway?) and after getting domestic chores done on Thurs vegged in front of the tv with hubby and watched NCIS. The boys head back to high school tomorrow. Trip will be a Senior and Kyle a Junior. The Marine recruiter was over on Weds to talk to Trip about signing on for the delayed entry program, but he's not ready yet and that's fine with us. Hoping to get the tractor back this week so hubby can scrape the drive. Then I'll call the gravel guy to bring 16 ton of gravel. We'll most likely need more than that but we'll see after the 1st load.

Touching Nature: Ma Nature and I were not speaking to each other this week though she relented for a couple days and we had gorgeous weather. But she's back to being a bitch, so screw her.

Book News: I had something like 12 reviews to write which I managed to whittle down to 3 and then...reading happened. Now I'm sitting on 6. I hope to get them done today. Maybe. I also drafted a shitload of posts yesterday when I was going to write reviews. Avoidance is my middle name. Not really, but it should be. Only 23 books behind on my challenge. Still managing to keep that number below 30. Woot? I'm hoping to get back to visiting starting today. *fingers crossed*

Don't Touch That Dial!: I've squeezed in some NCIS (with hubby) and Star Wars: Clone Wars Season 3 (with Trip) here and there, so I was not completely Netflix deprived this past week.

At the Flicks: Nada though the kids want to see Suicide Squad. Might be able to do that next weekend.

Cyberspace Playground: I've got nothing. I really need to get back to watching some YouTube.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Do not run errands in your jammies. It doesn't matter that you'll not be getting out of the car (like running the kids to school or hitting the drive thru) because chances are you'll get into an accident or the car will break down. I avoid that kind of bad luck by not wearing my jammies no matter how badly I want to. So far it's worked. *knocks on wood*

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  3. Mother Nature need to take her meds because I think she is trying ti kill us.
I was behind on reviews now I am just behind of reading. I have so much I want to read and no time to read. I really need to move out and live on my own.

I hope you have an AMAZING week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  4. MA nature gave us more rain than I wanted this past weekend but besides that I'm still talking to her ;) You sound so busy - I thought I was busy!!! And don't you feel bad about those reviews. I have so many to write, I don't even know the number. It's definitely in the double digits. I hope the first number is a 1, but it could be a 2...and I'm 18 books behind my goodreads challenge so youre in good company :)

  5. Love NCIS. Bwahaha..the read/review cycle is vicious. If I have more than 3 reviews needing to written I cut myself off from reading. Hope all goes well this week. Will you be in carpool hell?

  7. I have some pyjama pants that look like normal pants and went for a walk in them the other day - so comfortable. And you wouldn't know unless you'd seen them for sale as PJs!

Well done on catching up on your reviews Carol!

  9. I remember when an armed forces recruiter came to visit my high school - we were all so thrilled with the idea, until they started talking about boot camp...yeah...that shot us all back down to reality pretty quickly! ;)

  11. I'm a huge NCIS fan, too... even if I'm way, way behind on my watching (like at least a couple of seasons behind o.O) I just don't have time for TV... if I have to choose between a book and the TV, the book always wins.
Your new books all look great, and I hope you'll enjoy them :)
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
