AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Ok! Who is responsible for driving September away?! Huh?! Speak up!

On the Home Front: It starting raining Thursday evening and hasn't stopped. Yes, we need it, so I'm not going to bitch about it. Especially since it has not affected me leaving the windows open. I'm going to love the next electric bill. Oh, yes I am! I made refrigerator pickles and pickled jalapeños. Hubby and Anna said the jalapeños are yummy. The pickles have another day in the fridge then we'll give them a try. Yesterday I made cookies, brookies, banana bread and lasagna. I figured since I was going to crank up the oven for lasagna I might as well make some nommies.

Touching Nature: See above.

Book News: Last Sunday we went to the Friends of the Library Book Sale since it was Bag Day. We came home with quite the haul. The bags were actually much fuller. We had already seperated Jessica's books out.

103 total books ~ $40 ($10 was Jessica's)
53 hardcover, 28 soft plus Jessica's books~ 5 hard, 17 soft (not pictured)

I'm still 30 books behind in the Goodreads Challenge, but I'm not worried. Yet. I had more acquisitions to read and they don't count toward my goal, but I do get paid for them. So, win. Also, I had extra books for InD'tale Magazine to do that will count once the mag publishes. Another win. Now, if I can just get the rest of my October blog posts done and work on NetGalley November, I'll be set.

Don't Touch That Dial!: We've made some progress on Buffy and Angel. Nearly done with Seasons 5/2. I really don't want to watch Buffy Ep:16 The Body, but hubby is going to make me. Must have box of tissues handy.

At the Flicks: Nada

Cyberspace Playground: Twilight fans be warned. This is not a favorable review, but one I found accurate and also hilarious. Sorry. I just can't stand Twilight and the various spawn. I also happen to love The Passion of the Nerd. He's so insightful and that voice!

And this. Sometimes these aren't as funny as you'd expect, but this one is really good! And funny!

Randomness: For Supernatural fans...
And this, courtesy of my eldest putting it on my Facebook wall. LOL

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  6. The bag haul is fantastic! So many pretty books. You've been doing some serious baking. I've been really wanting to do some bread baking. The pickled jalapenos sound delicious. There's a Vietnamese sandwich place here that I go to all the time and they use pickled jalapenos on their sandwiches and it's fabulous. Have a great week!

    1. That would be a great idea, but I've packed them away for now. Until we can finish our Exterior Library. I just don't have the room for them in the house.

  9. My library never has sales, just a shelf with a few tatty old books on it which are usually crappy anyway. That haul is amazing!

    1. I wish more libraries had sales like this one. Maybe it's because it's run by the Friends of the Library and they have a large membership. Who knows?
