AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Home Front: School started Monday. The boys and Jessica are back to the old grindstone and Anna is taking a semester off. She'll start college Spring semester. Her birthday is in a few weeks and she's going to do some job applying so she can earn money for a car. Other than that, it's been pretty quiet.
Touching Nature: There was no funny business this week. I can't guaranteee the same next week.
Book News: I've had a strange request from an auction site to make a post about the books I'd most like to collect and feature their site. The guy who contacted me also would love me to make a post about my own book collection and how I started it. For those who don't know, my family & I have over 14,000 books. I don't have an exact count anymore because we were approaching 14K (with many tubs of books to go) when my computer died taking my database with it. We've been building a shed to house our books, AKA The Exterior Library, since 2010 and we're nearly done. We ran out of money to finish the exterior trim and build the shelves inside, but it'll get done some day. Anyway, back to those posts...they sound kinda fun to do, so I'll probably work on them in the next few weeks. And finally, I'm 35 books behind in my yearly challenge. *le sigh*
Oh! And also, Taye Diggs is now following me on Twitter. Wtf?! It could have been a random follow, but I'm thinking he's a Monster Porn fan because he followed me not long after I posted my MPM meme. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Hubby & I have been marathoning Buffy. Woah, how naughty does that sound? :D Anyway, while he may not be the rabid fan I am, he's enjoying the show and now we're in Season 3. So much win! In other news, I'm throwing in the towel on Charmed. There just doesn't seem to be the humor I love so much in Buffy and I really can't stand it. So, moving on. I'm giving Firefly a go. Also, with the start of school, Trip and I are watching an episode of Bones each morning. So I'm in a tv watching zone and that's more than I typically watch at any given time, but it's fun. :)
At the Flicks: Ant-Man! While the family enjoyed it (and so did I), I just don't think it was as good as the other Marvel movies I've seen. Which reminds me, I still need to watch Guardians of the Galaxy.
Cyberspace Playground: I've been (fairly) good about staying off YouTube and fanfic sites. I did go back to the first site where I read Buffy/Spike stories, but only because I'm going to be reviewing them for a FanFic Friday. I have most of the post drafted and just need to write up the reviews.

Cute pic of the boys.:D
ReplyDeleteAaaw, I loved Charmed. It definitely had a different humor than Buffy did. Oh well, I still like you. :P
The comic book cover for The Wizard of Oz is cute. I hope it's a good adaptation.
BTW, I tweeted you a link for a new monster porn book.:D
Thank you! :)
DeleteYou like me for my Monster Porn Mondays. Admit it. lolol
It is really cute! I hope it's good. I haven't started it yet, but soon.
Thanks for the link! You really do like me. *snickers*
I think I'm going to stick with Taye Diggs is a monster porn fan. I like it! I would definitely stick with that story as well. I have one of the guys from the TV show Numbers following me on Instagram for reasons I'm not sure of. It totally made my day.
ReplyDeleteI liked Charmed but only got a few seasons in and then they lost me with some crazy subplots and new characters and bunches of other things. I've never actually watched Buffy but I want to give a try. I know so many people who just love it that I want to see what I'm missing. I've heard great things about Ant Man. We watched Gone Girl last night and I liked it but I may need therapy. I read the book a couple of years ago and being immersed in these crazy peoples' story twice may be too much for me! Have a great week!
It's the truth in my reality. hehe
DeleteI just couldn't get into Charmed, so away I go. If you can get past the 1st Season of Buffy (and it's not all bad, just very low budget which makes sense since it was a last minute mid-season replacement of another show) then I think you'll enjoy it. I was surprised by how much I love it. If it weren't for the humor though I don't think I could have stuck with it.
I love Taye Diggs! LOL. He is in a new series I enjoy, Murder in the First...and, of course, in Private Practice he was dreamy.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget him in How Stella Got Her Groove Back...
Enjoy building that exterior library...great idea! While I am purging, you are going strong.
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I don't think I've seen a single thing he's in. lol But cool that he's following even if it was random or whatever. :)
DeleteWe're slowly getting it done and it's been (mostly) fun building it. lol
A monster porn fan *snickers* YES...to Firefly. So excited. My girls loved Charm when they were teenie-boppers. Ant Man is on my list of movies to rent when it comes to Redbox. Gads 14,000 books and counting. We have moved to many times cross country forcing me to purge. Hope your week is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIkr?! lol I started Firefly and got about halfway through the 1st episode before I was interrupted. I'll get back to it soon. Liking it so far.
DeleteI really don't want to think about moving with all these books. The mind, it boggles. :D
Wow, I don't feel so bad with my 600+ books now thanks. :)

Week in Review
You're very welcome! lolol
DeleteI got a weird email from an auction site thing as well. I haven't responded because gmail tells me the email is being send through another site, amazonses which I found odd, and I don't really trust it.
ReplyDeleteYes to Firefly! I love that show so much.
I haven't done anything else with it yet, been too busy. I kinda like the idea of the Wish List post though. I'll think about it more next week. :)
DeleteI'm liking it so far, but I've only seen half of the 1st episode. Got interrupted. I'll get back to it soon though!
Your boys are so cute, sorry I'd better say grown up in case they take offense!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love Firefly, it is the absolute best, I love it and never tire of watching it.
