AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

As you can see, I did it! Whew! 250 books complete. Actually I'm sitting at 254 with 3 more to go before the end of the month and maybe I'll toss in a few short steamy ones before we ring in the New Year. :) I'm going to set my 2015 goal with the same number. It's a reasonable one and if stuff comes up, which I'm sure it will, I won't feel pressured to get it done.

I mentioned last Sunday that my 17-yr-old daughter's phone went kaput and she had been without a phone since Dec 3rd. *gasp!* The horror!! Well, on Monday we upgraded to a smartphone and the cheapest data plan they have and with hubby's work discount my daughter is now a very happy owner of the iPhone 5c for very little extra per month. She is loving it. I would rather have an Android, but hey, I love seeing her beautiful smile. The things we do for our kids, right? :D

In addition, I have finished my shopping. I think. I hope. I have stuff to wrap, cookies to bake and movies to watch, but I'm mostly ready for Christmas. Hubby's last day is today since they are shutting the plant down for year-end maintenance, so he'll be off 7 days straight. He works a 4-shift alignment which means he works 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off. We love his days off, but 7 in a row is awesome especially since the kids will also be home. They have a 2 week and 1 day break this year. That's the longest break in years and we're looking forward to it. I officially turned off all alarms on my phone as of this morning. Woot!

In other news, we had flakeage yesterday. O.O Woah. Ok, the snowflakes were extremely tiny and they melted as soon as they hit the ground, but hey, snow is snow. LOL I've been in NC too long if I can get excited about the piddly stuff we had yesterday. This OH girl misses actual snow. Pathetic. :D

To wrap (<---see what I did there? lol) things up, I'm fairly ready for Christmas, we have a long break which we need, there are noms planned in the very near future, I completed my challenge and I only have 3 books to finish for the month. I see a Supernatural Season 9 marathon coming, a trip out to see The Hobbit and possibly some time playing Diablo III on the Xbox with hubby. Life, my friends, is good at the moment. I intend to savor it.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  2. We had a few little flakes to but nothing sticking- we're supposed to get snow though too by the big day. I hope we do, as long as it's not too much. And I'd like to get out and see The Hobbit too, but don't know if I will.

I like that holiday pic, very cozy. :) Have a merry Christmas!

    1. Lucky! We won't get any. I don't think we've had snow at Christmas in the 17 yrs we've been here. *sigh*

That's why I picked it. I want to insert myself into the scene. :D Merry Christmas to you, too!

  3. Ha - I'm all about Android, but my son loves iphone. It seriously pained me when I got his 4, and then he recently upgraded to 5s ... barf! lol. Nice collection of freebies. I have a couple of them, now to just actually read them ...

    Congrats on the goal!!

    1. Barf indeed. LOL And I know exactly what you mean about trying to get them read. Seriously. I have no clue when that's going to happen, but, hey...free! :D

      Thanks! :)

  4. I made my Goodreads Challenge as well. I don't know how some of you get through that many books! I guess if I didn't work two jobs and watch tv maybe I could too. Oh well. I always try a tiny increase on my goal, like 5 more books.
    Check out my Sunday Post

    1. Congrats on completing your challenge! *high fives* 2 jobs and tv watching? I'm surprised you get any reading done, so kudos! :D I don't work outside the home and do very little tv watching (I love Netflix when I do feel the need), so I get quite a bit read. :)

  6. 250 books?! Living up to the name "I'm a Voracious Reader" indeed. Lol! Congrats! I'm an Android lover too. I don't get it why people prefer iPhone when I think Android phones got all the apps that a person might need. Anyway, hope this week will be nothing but amazing for you! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas babe ♥

    1. I know! lol I was kinda worried there for a bit that I wouldn't make it, but I pulled it off. :D It's the whole Coke versus Pepsi thing only much more expensive. LOL

Thank you, Nyze! I hope you do, too! xoxo
