AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

My birthday was Weds, but we didn't celebrate until Thurs (and then Fri and Sat) because my hubby had to work. So, I've actually had a great birthday weekend instead of one day. Shopping and lunch with hubby on Thurs, a FotL book sale and 8 hours of playing Diablo III on Fri then a desk and bookcase building project followed by the sacrificial burning of the 2013 Christmas tree so we could have s'mores on Sat. Today we're just relaxing and doing household stuff. :)  Ahhhh! Busy, but fun. Well, my kind of fun anyway. LOL

I hate this weather. We had ice on Monday night, so no school Tues. No power outage this time though. *wipes forehead* Then it got nice enough to open the windows. Today the temp is dropping and it's raining. Plus, the forecast is calling for a wintry mix on Tues. DaFuQ?!?!? I cannot believe it. This is NC! Stop it already!

Anyway...how about some pics for your viewing pleasure?

Tuesday's ice

My birthday present, a Magic 8Ball. Woot!

The Christmas tree was really really dry. Look at it go!

New desk and bookcase for hubby in the office. Made almost entirely from scraps leftover from various projects. It ain't fancy, but it does the job and was fun building with my honey. :)

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
Shelf Additions

I actually have some book additions in emails that I haven't had a chance to get to yet since I've been busy. I'll have those here next week. :)

  1. That Christmas tree really went up in flames. I'm glad you were able to make use of old materials to make the desk. It looks like it will do the job just fine.

    1. The sale is twice a year so we would've had to go even if we had a ban (but we don't). :D

  3. WE had snow earlier and it was really coming down for a bit, but now it's stopped. Crazy. Happy birthday, it's always nice when you get to celebrate over a few days. :) 8 hours with a fave video game is always nice too!

Looks like you guys did a nice job with the desk and bookcase.

    1. It goes up really fast and as it dies down I have to throw more wood on the fire or we don't have enough coals to do s'mores. lol Thanks! :)

Yep. It's a cut tree, so what else would we do with it? Might as well get one more use from it.

      Thanks! I hope so! :)
