2024 Book RoundUp

This year hasn't been my worst year in terms of numbers. That award goes to 2023 with 55 books. This year I had 81 books read (or listened to) including two re-reads on my birthday. Unfortunately, I have 24 reviews to write, so you'll see many without links for now. Eeek! I'm hoping to whittle that number down in the next few days or so.

2024 has been another year to remember and not in a good way. Early in the year I discovered some shit about my husband and decided enough was enough. Though he didn't know that until October when things came to a head and I kicked him out.

Anyway, 81. Not as bad a year as I thought I would have only because I started listening to audiobooks from Chirp when driving my son to and from work. About 45 minutes a day (M-F and some Saturdays) when I'm alone in the car.

33 audiobooks
35 tour books (mostly BBNYA & The Write Reads)
3 from Red Adept Publishing. I miss you, RAP!
I intend to catch up on my RAP backlog in 2025.

It's been a pretty good year in terms of quality,
with 55 of the 81 rated 4 bites or above.

5 bites ~ 10
4 bites and a nibble ~ 25
4 bites ~ 20

When We Were Friends ~ Book Review

They were best friends. Sisters of the heart. Partners in crime. Until they got caught…

Five years ago, Frannie Willets committed grand larceny to help her best friend, Lexi Maddox, escape an awful situation. Now paroled and prospectless, Frannie needs to disappear from her dead-end life. To do so, she’ll need her share of the stolen money that Lexi has been hiding all these years. But Lexi has other plans.

By all appearances, Lexi is thriving, but in truth, nothing in her life is going according to plan. She can’t carry a pregnancy to term, her sweet stepdaughter hates her, and even the family’s new rescue dog knows she’s a failure. Lexi’s only path to happiness is making amends with the friend she dearly misses. But the only thing Frannie wants from Lexi is cash.

Out of desperation, Lexi offers Frannie all the money, with one catch: Frannie must stick around for one month. Stranded in their suffocating small town, Frannie gets tangled up in Lexi’s issues, her mother’s questionable dating life, a lonely kid’s desperate attempts to find friends, and a high-school crush’s fantasies about what could have been. Suddenly, leaving doesn’t look as easy as it once did. But when an old enemy surfaces, Frannie realizes her staying endangers everyone she loves. And even though she might have found her heart’s true home, there’s no guarantee she can keep it.

2022 Book Round Up

This year has been my worst year yet in terms of numbers. 62 books read (or listened to) including two re-reads on my birthday. Ugh. That is my lowest number since I've been keeping track (2012).
7 audiobooks
10 monster porn
25 tour books
7 from Red Adept Publishing
3 from BBNYA
& several more!
But obviously not that many. Because 62.

However, it's been a great year in terms of quality,
with 55 of the 62 rated 4 bites or above.

5 bites ~ 15
4 bites and a nibble ~ 23
4 bites ~ 17

Friday Featured Spotlight

The Write Reads has launched the largest blog tour (also at The Write Reads on Tour) I have ever seen. If there's a bigger one out there then I don't know about it. From April 1st - April 10th ten bloggers a day shared their thoughts on the book After the Green Withered by Kristin Ward. There were book reviews, first chapter thoughts, spotlights, and interviews galore! So.Many.Blog.Posts! I've included them all here for you to see, but if you would rather go to Twitter and peruse them all that way the hashtags used during the tour were:
