Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Got up late, but the dogs went to bed late so I only feel a tiny bit guilty. It rained last night! But we only got about 1/3". We need SO much more than that. Anna and Chris got a deluge on Ocracoke Island, but stayed dry in the tent. They're hopping over to Hatteras Island today and camping at Oregon Inlet Campground so they can drive through the Outer Banks on the way home tomorrow. I puttered around the house then sat in my chair and watched The Closer. Fell asleep for too long. I had put a pork roast in the Instant Pot, but the boys didn't wake me up to feed the dogs at 5pm. I ended up feeding them around 7pm! For fucks sake. By then I did not feel like making sides for the roast so we just ate the meat (which was tender and delicious). When I told Kyle that I wasn't making anything to go with, he said I make it sound like a bad thing. So...there you go, I guess. lol

Monday ~ Took Kyle to and from work. In-between I put away Anna's clean clothes. I did approximately a hundred loads of towels, washed my clothes, changed my bedstuff and washed them. She got back late in the evening.

Tuesday ~ Anna and Kyle on OT. Except Anna didn't get up in time, so Kyle woke me up to take him to work. I woke her up when I got back then went back to bed. After getting up at 8:00am and doing the usual morning stuff, Trip and I went to my former SIL's house to pick up some old photos. She had reached out on FB messenger asking if I wanted any. So we went and she had a lot, but I was pictured out after an hour and we left. Besides, that's the wasband's side of the family so I didn't really know what pics to take. Trip and I stopped at Food Lion for some things and had ice cream at the shop next door. Turkey lasagna for dinner.

Wednesday ~ After morning routine, I took Sugarcube to the vet for her wellness and bloodwork. Doc said she looks good for an old lady. She'll be 15 in July and so will Captain Kirk. Anyway, afterwards Trip and I went to get groceries. We hit Harbor Freight, Big Lots, BJ's, and had lunch at Culver's.

Thursday ~ Trip had a psych app't at 10, so we stopped after at Food Lion for some things then had lunch at Waffle House. Puttered around on the internet before heading out to pick up Kyle at Anna's therapy app't since they're working OT and she didn't have time to bring him all the way home.

Friday ~ After the usual morning stuff and a frustrating hour on the computer trying to get a replacement T bar for Trip's gaming chair that is well within the warranty, I woke Trip up to go outside and move gravel. We fed the critters and did a few other things, too. Then he showered first. I followed and finished up in time for Nancy to stop by to do the dogs' nails. Not long after she left, Anna's boyfriend showed up with his dad not far behind with a trailer to pick up the brush hog, single row plow, and box blade I sold to him (him being Chris's dad, who is also named Chris). Chris's sister, who is also named Anna lol, came along to help. So, I got those things out of my way and made a bit of money for myself. Win-win. Anna spent the night at Chris's. The boys and I had Bojangles for dinner. Their service is absolutely the worst. But Kyle likes their chicken. So...*shrugs*  I went to bed at 11pm.

Saturday ~ Up before 9:00. After the usual morning shit, I procrastinated getting started on the cleaning by clearing out emails. Trip and I fed the critters then I made myself get started on my bathroom. Threw the rugs from both bathrooms into the wash. Since it's the first weekend of the month that means extra cleaning, so I got my bathroom deep clean done, including Eevee's litterbox, then started on the laundry room. Changed the furnace filters. Completely cleaned the cats' fountain. Trip dumped the litterboxes. I washed, he dried, we filled, and put back. Finished up with the mopping. I was cleaning all the ceiling fans when Timothy, Summer, Lori, and Noah showed up. Timothy and Summer wanted to shoot, so I watched the kids. When they were done, Timothy took the tires off mom's yard trailer to take to work on Monday. I worked on this post while frozen pizzas were baking in the oven.

Today I need to finish up the rest of the cleaning. Just need to do the air purifiers, take up the rugs in the kitchen and entry and put clean ones down after I sweep and mop. After that I'm going to read with my feet up in my comfy chair.

New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Not really though I went through several audios.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ Only working outside.
Tidy up outside ~ Yes. Did some of that.

Touching Nature:  It's been a nice cool week with occasional rain. Not nearly enough to bring us out of a severe drought, but enough to get it all wet. Nice to have some relief from the dust. It didn't rain hard enough to wash all the tree jizz off the skylights.

Book News:  Still haven't written any reviews. Yikes.

Don't Touch That Dial!: The Closer. Thanks to Anne for suggesting it. I'm enjoying it even though Brenda sometimes irritates me. lol

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When you're too tired to make anything for dinner (or lunch), it's ok to just eat the ingredients. I've had cheese on crackers, crackers with peanut butter, lunchmeat and cheese, etc. There are no rules when it comes to nourishing yourself. Do whatever works. Slap that shit on a plate. Or just eat straight from the fridge/pantry. You do you. I use a plate because I don't like stepping on crumbs in my bare feet.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
