Hello and Happy Sunday!

Thanksgiving is this coming week and I'm ingredient ready.
But will my house be?

On the Home Front

I'm just so tired. This whole year has just worn me right down and it's not quite done yet. I know the end is in sight, but ugh. Have you ever had so much to do that you just sit in indecision and lethargy? That's me. I know if I can just get a big push going, I'll finish things up. But it's that first burst that's hard to get going and sustain. Anyway, instead of a journal/diary type post, I just marked down some things that I did. Anna is always asking me to write daily in a diary for her to read when I'm dead and dust lol, but I realized the Sunday Post is kinda the same thing and I've been doing them since July 21st 2013.

Sunday ~ Laundromat (kids' clothes) and Lowe's. Went through all the packages that have come and separated out who gets what Christmas present. I'm actually almost done. Need some cards and toys for the grandkiddos. Then I'll probably procrastinate wrapping until the very last minute. Because that's what I do.

Monday ~ Leafageddon Battle IV. Took rest of stuff off porch and moved planters and blocks away from any wood surface that will be stained. Took Kyle to work, Anna still sick. Painter texted that he has Covid and asked if I could wait to do porch. I said sure even though the pod goes back Monday and it has the porch stuff in it.

Tuesday ~ Worked on blog while waiting for Final Build inspector and cabinet guy to come. Then Laundromat (fuckton of towels and some of my unmentionables lol) and Lowe's. Kyle working OT. Anna back to work but feels like shit (all congested), but had CPR training, so she could sit all day. Exertion gave her the shakes. Texted the wasband and offered up my chili if he'd come pressure wash the porch. I'd do it myself, but the damn thing never starts for me. He'll be here Thursday morning. Anna went to therapy (wore a mask) then picked up a Covid/flu test at CVS. Tested negative again. Apparently it's just the crud.

Wednesday ~ Oil change for Kyle's car, breakfast at Pano's, various shopping stops: Big Lots, Harbor Freight, Office Depot, Kohl's, BJ's gas, BJ's store, and Food Lion. Errands always wipe me out. I hate peopling. Ordered Domino's for dinner.

Thursday ~ Wasband pressure washed the porch. Pressure washer runs like shit. Probably has junk in the carburetor. Anyway, it got done. Repair man fixed washer and replaced gasket on the fridge. The light I got for it is wrong even though Amazon said it would fit, so he didn't replace that and since I bought it more than a year ago I can't return it. I offered it to the repair man who decided he'd pass on it, so in the e-waste it goes. Gave me correct part number. I ordered it online, so when it comes I'll replace it myself since he showed me how. Nice guy. Moved some things around in hall closet, laundry room, and pantry. Emptied a few tubs of Anna's stuff (books and Pokemon stuff) and put on the computer area bookshelves. Started laundry laundering. Leftover Domino's for dinner.

Friday ~ Haircut for Trip (who hadn't had one since July?!), gas at BJ's for the Pilot, Sherwin Williams for Carolina Blue paint for Trip's soon-to-be room, Lowe's for porch stain. Rainy and chilly. Starving so we stopped at Waffle House and then Food Lion for a few things for Thanksgiving dinner. Did more laundry. No wonder our washers never last as much laundry as we do. Anna a I went out to pick up a Lowe's order that came in literally after Trip and I had left there and were sitting in Waffle House by our home. Then we hit Kohl's and Big Lots looking for a comforter and sheet set for Kyle's new bed (not put together yet and he'll need to shop for a mattress). Found a sheet set (but no comforter) at Big Lots then we took my mom's twin pillowtop mattress and bunkie board to April's for Kyleigh. They were brand new and even though I didn't know what I was going to do with them I brought them home from the farm last year, I figured someone could use them. Glad I did because Kyleigh desperately needed a new mattress and she loves it. Boys ate the last of the leftover Domino's, Anna had Taco Bell, and I wasn't hungry.

Saturday ~ Took Kyle to work. Went back to sleep but was too tired to get up with 7am alarm. Got up after 8. Fed the furries, walked the dogs then got started on staining the front porch. I hate my life. It looks like shit and I only did the floor, steps, and ramp. It should have a 2nd coat but the first coat wrecked my knees and my back is killing me,. Fuck this shit. We can unload the pod tomorrow since it's being picked up Monday then I'll just hire Raul to do the 2nd coat after Thanksgiving some time. We emptied the freezer, moved it back to the laundry room, and refilled it. It takes up so much room in there. I'm not happy, but it is what it is. I did some laundry and while there were towels in it it took a giant shit on me. After making a sickly noise and it was trying to agitate I opened the lid to see the drum was completely listing to one side. Fuck my life. I'll just go buy a new fucking washer tomorrow. I'm so sick of shit not lasting. Dinner was Fend For Yourself. Though I said we'd get Texas Roadhouse tomorrow since we'll be very busy. I hope.

Today First up is to empty the pod and I need to get a washing machine. We seriously do laundry practically every day and can't be without. I honestly just want to shove this one out onto the back deck and down the steps, but it's all new construction and I don't want to fuck it up. I'll have the boys take it to the washer graveyard to join the other 2 already there. I seriously need to load up my trailer and make a dump trip. The boys and Anna will put together the last of the bookcases and my desk (for my sewing machine). I also need to mount the cubes on the walls over the desk (it's L-shaped). I might try to stain the posts, rails, and pickets. Or I may just move shit around in the house and leave the front porch to Raul. Because, seriously, I did a shitty job of it. Kyle is off all this coming week, but Anna doesn't have enough time built up so she has to work M-W. I'm hoping we can clear out some of this stuff and start getting back to normal. If the electrician can come then we can move the computers to the desks and then the table in the boys' room can come out to the kitchen. I need stuff out of Trip's soon-to-be room so I can paint then they can put together his bed and he can move his stuff in. Then they can take apart their bunkbed and put together Kyle's bed.

Construction News ~ Final build passed. Yay! Laundry room cabinets are complete. Waiting for a few small things to be done and the electrician to come do the floor outlets for the computer room.

Touching Nature:  Mostly a nice week. Rainy and chilly Friday.

Book News:  Since I'm driving Kyle in the mornings I'm back to listening to audiobooks. He took next week off though. I did finish an audio while staining the front porch and started another. However, I feel like I'm failing at absolutely everything.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Working my way through season 5 of Angel. Then I'm not touching the tv for awhile. I want to get in the habit of reading in the evenings  again, so I either need to do it in the morning when I'm fresh or take a short nap after lunch so I'm not falling asleep in my chair by evening.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:  I actually did most of my shopping online. But I will not for Black Friday. I'm joining the Black Out this year. Plus, I shop at stores that support the Democratic platform. Not that I think the Dems are perfect (because whooboy they are not), but R's are full of racist bigoted sexist assholes who are ruining this country. So, fuck them and the oligarchy that has bought them.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I hate absolutely everything right now. Except maybe wine. Wine is good. Mmmm....maybe I should eat something along with this glass (glasses).

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Chirp

I picked up some on sale earlier this week, but
I'll look at the Friday Freebie email today or tomorrow.
