Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Cleaned the patio door inside and out including the track because I hadn't done that since it had been installed. Cleaned all three of Anna's new windows and discovered one of them doesn't latch properly. Installed the blinds for her single window but decided to wait on the double window by her window seat in case they need to do something with it. Maybe it just needs adjusted. Who knows? Instead of installing a rod for her blackout curtains we bought a tension rod, so that was easy to install. They're a bit long, but workable for now. Maybe after everything is done we'll try to hem them. Then we went through 9 boxes of plushies and sorted them into groups. After that I was just done for the day.

Monday ~  Anna and I went shopping for misc. items for the house. We hit CVS, Big Lots, Harbor Freight, Lowe's, TSC, and evil WallyWorld before picking up Culver's for dinner. Our feet were killing us. I really do hate shopping. Other than needing pavers for various areas and a bit of gravel for under the back deck, that should be it for awhile. I'll probably just have that delivered.

Tuesday ~ Kyle had his Autism/ADHD assessment that was supposed to run from 10-1, but after Trip only took about 2 hrs I decided I'd just stay in the Pilot and wait. I brought snacks and a book. The place is on the other side of Greensboro, so it would have been a waste of time and gas to drop him off and then go back. Also, I figured I wouldn't be able to even really get started on anything around the house. Good decision because he was done right before noon. lol While I was there, Anna took Mr. Puggles to his appt for vaccines and to look at his eye which keeps getting red. He has drops from the last time we had it checked, but they were almost out. The vet still had nothing definitive to say about it, so recommended the eye specialist. We'll wait to see if his eye gets really red again. I'm inclined to think it's allergies, but we'll keep an "eye" on it. hehe Anna started messing with the T-Mobile home internet as she had gotten some notifications for weird users/devices. During her messing around she managed to get my computer to hook back up to wifi, so I don't need the cable running across the floor anymore. Woot! However, her computer won't connect to wifi and it's sitting right by mine, so that's driving her crazy. She needs to move her computer back to her room, so I'm not sure she should waste time on it unless it won't connect back there.

Wednesday ~ Kyle's back to work. When I got home I woke Anna up so she can soak her toes before going to a job interview where Kyle works. Fingers and toes crossed she gets the job. It's good pay and benefits. Easy work in a controlled environment. I should have applied for it.

Thursday ~ Met with the contractors to go over Phase II. Worked on the blog. That's pretty much it.

Friday ~ Took Kyle to work then stopped to pick up a few things at Food Lion. Anna was supposed to go to the eye doc this morning but woke up with a sore throat, sniffling, sneezing, and headache. So I rescheduled. Worked on the blog. Raul stopped by to pressure wash the back deck in prep for staining next week. Picked Kyle up from work and he had tamales from a co-worker. Yay! No cooking tonight!

Saturday ~ Got up late-ish. After Jess got here we went to Irene's and started sorting through stuff, looking for family photos and Hummel figurines. The neighbor had the key, so she joined us. It was hot. Hotter than it's been in a long time. We certainly picked a bad day to go. Anyway, the place is trashed. Like, ransacked. Drawers pulled out, dumped, and just tossed aside. Un-fucking-believable. Her bedroom is the worst. I'm not going to get into how fucking pissed I am about it. Anyway, we scored some old family albums, some Hummel figurines, and...get ready for this...I found her fucking will! Although I don't know how legal it is. It is written in a notebook, in pencil, with the date (April 2018), but no signature. So, I'm not sure how that will play out. The brothers aren't paying  the property taxes so it will end up going to the county. The house will need to be bulldozed. It's in bad shape. I don't think anyone will want to fix it up. Not to mention, if it goes to the county then it could be years before anything is done about the property. It's a menace, attracting a bad element all the time. Irene really fucked up not letting anyone know where her fucking will was. She died in 2021 and most of what she has in the will (personal property) has been stolen. Seriously people, make a fucking will and tell someone where it is! After doing all that and sweating about 10 gallons we changed clothes at home and I ordered pizza. After I ate, I did the cleaning then showered. Anna showered while we waited for the pizza. Anna's congestion is worse and I'm wondering if she has COVID. I don't have any tests though. I should pick some up. Kyle, Trip, and Anna are all sick. I do not need to get it, too. Not with all the work I need to do. It stormed and the temperature finally dropped again.

Today I think I'll go back to Irene's and pick up the patio table and 4 chairs on her screened in porch since Anna liked them. I'm pretty sure they're wrought iron. I can sandblast and paint them. I'll probably start to pack up stuff in the kitchen. Or I may make room in my bedroom for the cedar chest. The desk in my office that Anna's been using needs to go (and her computer needs to go back to her room) so I can bring Artemis's crate in here. There's so much to shift and pack up. Ugh! I'll just do what I can each day.

Construction News ~ Phase II still set to start on the 15th. I have SO much to do! I ordered a Pack Rat and it will be delivered the 12th. The dumpster will come the morning of the 15th. We've decided to make the laundry room the last of the project, so we can still have a sink to use. I'm meeting with the cabinet guy on Monday to go over the cabinets one last time before he orders materials. All I need to do is pack everything up in a week. Oh, and pick out my pulls. Even after Phase II is complete, we'll need to work on the boys' rooms. Kyle is kicking Trip out of their room and sending him to the small room which we call the cat room, but really it's just a junk room. lol

Touching Nature: It was really nice then the heat started creeping up each day. Saturday storms brought temps back down. I should really mow at some point this coming week.

Book News:  Nothing to report here. I am so fucking far behind on everything.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Angel and Buffy. I still need to finish CSI:NY.
