Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:  Monday Artemis had a recheck of her eye pressures and they look good. She had some bloodwork done because she's an old lady (10.5 yrs) and I hadn't realized we'd never done any since she turned into a senior dog. All good on that front. She has a yeast ear infection in both ears so got some meds. And they checked on a small bump, but it's just a fatty tumor. Nothing to be concerned with unless it really changes. After I got back with her I ran Trip out to get his Pokestop and when we parked back home there was this loud hissing noise. Apparently I ran over something that punctured the tire, so hubby put two plugs in. It still had a slow leak though.

Weds I went to pick up a library book and had to put air in the tire (in the pouring rain), so I ran the Pilot up to the mechanic's place and my stepson put a mushroom plug in while Trip and I had breakfast at the diner next door. We hadn't expected a treat like that for awhile yet. lol I ordered food for Anna's lunch and dropped it off at work for her. Thursday was grocery pick up then we went to see Dune Part Two.

Did all of my usual Saturday cleaning on Friday as well as the First Weekend of the Month Cleaning (even though that's not officially not until next weekend). Did approximately 100 loads of laundry.
Saturday I spent all morning in the kitchen prepping food for some meals and doing the dishes as I went. Good thing I cleaned out the fridge yesterday. Cut up 2 lbs of strawberries, roma tomatoes, and 3 lbs of cooked chicken fajita strips for burritos. Grated fresh cheddar and colby jack and was going to do parmesan but realized I didn't have any. 😢Got out the Instant Pot and boiled eggs, then made 3 cups of jasmine rice followed by 3 cups of white rice. Fried up 3 cans of spam and got burns on my forearm from splattering grease. Baked 2 cinnamon swirl coffee cakes. I think that's it. 🤔

Today I'm planning on doing taxes. That's why I was trying to get all the cleaning and other shit done before today. I'm having such a fun and exciting weekend. Admit it. You're all jealous. 🥳🤥

Touching Nature: Chilly in the morning, a little warmer during the day. It was 70º and mostly sunny on Friday. 76º yesterday and supposed to be 81º for 3 days before dropping back to the 60s/30s. This is shaping up to be a very weird Spring in NC. We did get 3" of rain Tuesday night and most of Wednesday.

Book News: Did a bit of reading and wrote two reviews. Red Adept Publishing has some great books on sale until April 2nd if you want to go check them out. I think I've read nearly all of them.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Bones, Lucifer, and Psych this week.

At the Flicks: Watched Dune Part One Wednesday evening. Then saw Dune Part Two at the theater Thursday.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  I sometimes eat these plain, but honestly? They're THE best for dippin'.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Sometimes people aren't who you think they are and you have to dump their ass and move on. Have I shared this one before? It's very relevant right now for a lot of people.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

From the library

Purchased Hardcover
I have this book somewhere.
I didn't feel like trying to find it so I bought a new one.
Actually, I do have a gorgeous copy from The Folio Society,
but that's for my shelf and not for every day reading. lol

  2. Urg! Slow punctures are a pain, as you have to constantly keep checking the tyres. We ended up buying a pump to use at home so we didn't have to keep stopping at the garage when I was struggling with a leak we couldn't find. I hope the coming week is a good one.

    1. I just finished Kyle's taxes since his are the easiest. On to Anna's then ours. Ugh. It is nice out. A bit too warm at 81º for no leaves on the trees though. It looks like we'll drop back down in a few days. Such a weird Spring. Happy Easter!
