Widow Violet Laurens is
rescued from highwaymen by a stranger and when he is injured she takes him home
to care for him. When he wakes up with no memory of who he is, other than the
name Kit, she and her servants continue to care for him. But as Christmas
approaches Violet worries he has a family out there, looking for him, so she
does all she can to help him regain his memory. Close contact only increases
their attraction to each other until they give into the heat between them. Kit’s
memory is slowly returning in bits and pieces, but will it be enough for a
Christmas miracle?
The writing is great and
the characters are relatable. Kit is an ass most of the time, but I think that’s
the point. His change is noticeable and it makes it worth putting up with him.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s attractive and charming and flirty, but his attitude
leaves a lot to be desired though I can understand why he is the way he is. His
older sister, ugh. I really couldn’t stand her. I think she is too over-the-top,
but at least she loves Kit and isn’t just an outright bitch. All-in-all this is
a hot historical romance with two different characters that is refreshing to
read.
