--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Slowly settling into our new routine. This week will be another adjustment as Anna and April head back to school, but then we should be good to go. I hope. In any case, we'll survive.

Touching Nature: SNOW!! In North Carolina! A rare sight and even rarer is we did not get any freezing rain/ice with it! WOOT!! Growing up and living 29 yrs in Ohio, I never thought I'd say I miss the snow. But I do. lol And since this is NC we're talking about, the forecast is showing 60s by the end of the week. WTF?!

Book News: I finished several books (I'm not sure how I managed that, so don't ask), but have yet to write reviews, 9 and counting though 3 of those I finished at the end of December. I did draft some posts though, so yay me! :)

In other news, I know everyone loves the Monster Porn Monday the 1st Monday of the month, but I'm not going to get it done for the 9th. I do hope to have it complete for the 16th though, so hang in there. You pervs. :D

Don't Touch That Dial!: No worries about touching of the dial. No tv viewing has happened. Unless you count watching animated movies over and over with my nearly 3-yr-old granddaughter. LOL

At the Flicks: Nada

Cyberspace Playground: My favorite Buffy episode recapper has started Season 1 of Angel now while doing season 4 of Buffy. Woot!

Randomness: My oldest son posted this on my FB wall. LOL

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Buy snow boots because you never know when you're going to need them.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. We got some snow too and the end of the week is going to be rather warm. It's like Winter forgot how to Winter.
Glad things will be going back to a new normal for you. This first week back to school wasn't as bad as I thought but we still have a few kinks to work out. :)

My mom yelled at me for not getting them boots but what if this is the ONLY snow we get. Waste of foot wear since they are still little.

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  2. Yea we got some cold and snow this week too - but I DON'T miss the snow so I'm super happy that the weather is going to be going back to the 70s for us next week. I'm perfectly ok if we could just have no winter. 3 seasons would work for me!

Yay for Monster Porn Monday - no worries we can wait :)

And I love what your son posted to your FB wall. If only they did it the right way the first time right? LOL!

  4. Bwahaha...I can quote all the Curious Georges movies and to an outsider I would seem psychic when it comes to the letter and number of the day! Write those reviews woman, I get anxious if I have more than 2 to write. You are giving me heart palpitations.

  5. Wow, that is a lot of snow. It doesn't snow here but I do have snow gear saved from trips to Lake Tahoe. I hate throwing things out so hopefully they still fit if we ever need them lol. I love that FB quote and I'm going to show my kids lol. I hope you have a great week!

  6. We got the cold weather, but no snow here on the Gulf Coast. Some frozen water from the torrential downpours though. The only time I miss snow is on Christmas Day. LOL

  7. I've got a few Rhiannon Frater books and it's another author that I really need to catch up with! Too much I want to read at the moment! I'd so much love to binge watch Buffy again but at the moment I'm ploughing through season three of The Walking Dead to try and catch up. I thought I might finish it last night but have realised that I actually have two more dvd disks to watch. *sigh*

  8. Our forecast for this weekend is freezing rain and sleet, I think I want snow instead. :( I would prefer none, but if I had a choice, snow. It's suppose to be in the 60's this week and then this weekend we get freaking sleet! Someone please go slap Mother Nature!!!

Hope you are surviving the snow and cold weather.

  9. I want to experience just one real snow (not copious amounts or a blizzard, but what is normal for the northern regions). Our temps are going back up this week. I didn't need my jacket after 8 AM!
