--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

May 2017 be of higher quality than 2016.

On the Home Front: My home life has gotten chaotic and the blog may have to take a back seat. My stepdaughter, her husband and the two grandkiddos have moved in with us (on Dec. 20th) and I'll be watching the babies while April sleeps (3rd shift worker) and goes to nursing school and Josh is at work (1st shift worker). While hubby has a 2 on/2 off schedule and can help when he's off, I still have the boys to get to school and Anna will be starting Spring college classes. We'll figure it out (if I don't go insane first), but in the meantime I'm not getting any reading done.

In other news, it was nice having little ones around to open presents Christmas morning. It was quite crowded around the tree, but we managed. Now if we can find room for all these toys we'll have half the battle won. :D

Touching Nature: It's warm, it's cold, it's warm again. I'm getting real tired of not knowing from one day to the next whether I need winter clothes or summer. For fuck's sake, Ma Nature! Shit or get off the pot already!

Book News: Not much to report here. I've finished a few books this month, but not anywhere near the amount I'd have loved to read. And I don't anticipate that changing anytime soon with the new homelife situation. I may be able to find balance, but I'll just play it by ear. That's about all I can do.

Don't Touch That Dial!: A couple eps of The Walking Dead and a few Christmas movies: Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Elf, Gremlins, Polar Express, Rudolph and A Christmas Story. Nowhere near the list I had planned. Maybe next year.

At the Flicks: Rogue One and Passengers. We enjoyed both. :)

Cyberspace Playground: I got nothing.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When life throws you a curveball you have to learn to hit that bitch either for a base hit or a home run or you'll find yourself striking out and heading for the bench.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Sounds like you have a full house. I hope things will settle down for you all and you find a good routine. 2017 will be a good year for all of us.
The weather needs to pull itself together because it's confusing me and I can't handle that :)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  2. It sure does sound like you've got your hands full. Hopefully it'll all sort itself out. It was really cold this morning. It's not 9 minutes into the new year and 68 degrees and pouring rain! Our weather has been just like yours. Enjoy those little ones and Happy New Year!

  8. I am so damn tired of the weather. It is hot and then it's cold where you need a jacket and wintry clothing, then hot again. It is driving me nuts!
