Harmony Black is an FBI agent in a covert
organization named Vigilant Lock. She’s also a witch and her job is to hunt
monsters. After her last job goes south and a new job turns up in her home
town, her boss puts her on a team for the first time. No longer working solo
takes some getting used to, but she’s fitting in pretty well considering she’s
facing her childhood monster – The Bogeyman.
The only drawback to this intriguing paranormal
tale of monsters and mystery is that there is some repetitiveness that gets a
bit irritating. Otherwise this is a one hell of a ride with action nearly from
the start. The plot is fast moving, the writing is pretty good and the
characters are awesome. Monsters, magic, the occult, mysteries and conspiracies
upon conspiracies, where the hell is this series going? I have no idea, but it
looks like it’s going to be quite a fun ride!
I read this one in like March/April and felt the same way. It kind of made me think of Supernatural, which... Who doesn't love supernatural? I'm glad you just reviewed it, because I had forgotten about it and wanted to get the next book when it came out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it is a bit like Supernatural and I do love me some of that. :D I'm so behind on my Kindle First books. And my NetGalley books. And, well, all my books. lol
DeleteI think I have this one hiding on my kindle somewhere so nice to know it's a good one. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to it soonish so I can see if you like it, too. :)
DeleteAction is good! Repetitive stuff, not so much. I guess I really have to read it myself to find out, eh?
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic Sunday :)

Could just be because it's a first book in a series. I want book 2 to see if it happens again. And yeah, guess you'll have to read it to see if it bugs you like it bugged me. lol
