AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Home Front: School is out and hubby was on vacation so we pretty much just hung out and didn't do much of anything this week. Which was kinda nice.
Touching Nature: Hubby & I transplanted some honeysuckle and I think we killed it. Or maybe the extreme heat did. In any case, poop. We also cleared out a bunch of underbrush from Fangorn Forest and it's looking better around here. We have lots to burn. Now, if it'll only stop raining long enough to do so. I also transplanted my marigolds to my tomato/pepper bed. I hope that takes care of the bugs. Little bastards. With the rain that moved in the temps have at least dropped from molten lava to acceptable (upper 70s). Yesterday we had some nasty storms periodically rolling through and about 9:30pm one of them got us and the power went out. Duke Energy got us back up a little after 2:00am. I had already gone to bed, but I got up to turn off lights and turn on the dishwasher, only to find out that Trip had already gone around blowing out candles and turning off the lights, so that only left me to do the dishwasher. :)
Book News: I've added some freebies, but the big news this week is I'm caught up on my review writing and drafting of posts. Woot! Of course, I'm 20 books behind in my yearly challenge, but I have confidence I'll be catching up soon. And when I start on that backlog, I'm going to try really, really, really hard to write the review when I finish a book. Stop laughing! It could happen!
Don't Touch That Dial: We've done a bit of marathoning this week. Hubby & I have made some progress on the CSI:Miami front. 28 episodes total left to watch. And man, Horatio is getting pretty damn dark. Yowzers. I also saw that CSI (the original) is going off the air this fall, so hopefully it'll be available on Netflix not long after. I think we watched the first 9 seasons, so we have a lot to catch up on with that one. In addition, hubby, Trip & I are 7 episodes away from finishing Season 2 of our Supernatural rewatch.

I discovered Supernatural last year and am totally watching it out of order, think I'm on series 9 but watched series one before, Not sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind as long as Dean Winchester is on the screen!!
Heather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings
O.O Watching it out of order? *faints* lol Yeah, I'm also a Dean fan, but I love Cas, too. :)
DeleteI still have so much to catch up with on Supernatural we are two seasons behind but I can't seem to find time to sit and watch them.
ReplyDeleteI could do without the power outage but I would love just one big storm :) we keep having shitty storms and they are boring!
I just finished a bunch of stuff for the blog but I still have a lot to do. I really want to write reviews when I finish a book but when I finish it at night I don't see me writing the review until morning lol so sometimes they take me a while :)
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! oxox
Yeah, we never finished 9 and are waiting for 10 to get to Netflix. Maybe by the time we finish the rewatch it'll be there. *fingers crossed*
DeleteWe had lots of nice thunder rumbling. It was lovely. I love thunder. :)
I was caught up and now I have a couple reviews to write. See? It never ends. LOL
Thanks and you, too!
Hey a week of Buffy reviews- that looks fun! What a great idea. And Netflix- we just got it a few months ago, and binging is part of lifestyle now LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
The reviews will go into next week since there are 8 in Season 8. I have a Spike one coming up and some Angel, too. :) Oh, yes, Netflix binging. It's sooooo easy because the episodes are all *right there*! LOL
DeleteThanks and you, too!
Off the Grid looks good Carol and touching nature is just wrong. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt sure does! And I have to touch Nature sometimes. And sometimes it touches back. Stupid poison ivy. *grumbles*
DeleteSo many awesome new books! I love CSI Miami and am all caught up. I always say "You go, Horatio!" when he does his thing. Love that he positions himself sideways and looks over his sunglasses. LOL
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post - http://fuonlyknew.com/2015/06/28/whats-new-on-my-bookshelf-115-and-the-sunday-post/
Horatio is such a badass! lol
DeleteI've been watching CSI Cyber and it's leaving me a bit cold. It seems too over-the-top or unrealistic. I think it's been signed for a second season which surprises me!
ReplyDeleteI heard Ted Danson will be joining CSI:Cyber. Not sure how that will work out. Maybe Season 2 will be better. Once Netflix picks it up I'll have to check it out. Unless Prime or Hulu has it. :)
DeleteWOOT! Congrats on being caught up!
ReplyDeleteCSI is already on NetFlix, so start binging. :D
IT IS?! I didn't get no email letting me know! *runs to look* Ah, it's Hulu that has it. That's ok. I also have Hulu. Netflix, Hulu and Amazon are still cheaper altogether than satellite is by itself. :D
