AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Home Front: It's been a busy, busy week around here with the last week of school happening (exams all around), graduation for our daughter coming up tomorrow and Trip's 16th birthday also tomorrow. In addition, we've been looking at rentals for Jessica. She put an application in for an apartment complex that's the perfect place for her, so do me a favor and keep your fingers crossed that the app gets accepted. So exciting!
Touching Nature: So, let me show with a picture what it's been like around here.

Enough said.
Book News: I've been too busy to get much reading done, I've drafted no posts nor written any reviews. Next week should be a bit calmer. At least I hope so since I still have 8 reviews to write and I'm currently 23 books behind "schedule." However, I did finally get to meet the owner of Red Adept Publishing (and several authors) Friday evening and Saturday afternoon there was a book signing at my local B&N, so I got to meet a Curiosity Quills author. Yay!
Don't Touch That Dial: Trip & I are continuing with Bones, Ralph & I got sidetracked from CSI:Miami by Longmire, but we finished it since it's only 3 seasons (and WTF about that cliffhanger and then it got cancelled?!) and last night hubby, Trip & I started a rewatch of
This time we're keeping track in a notebook of what the monster is, the location and favorite quotes. Don't judge our fandom (i.e. obsession.) LOL
At the Flicks: We're going to see Jurassic World today. I don't usually go on opening weekends, but Trip wants to see it and his birthday is tomorrow, so we'll give it a go. Since we're hitting the early matinée, I'm hoping to avoid the major crowds since most people will still either be in bed or at church.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

After 3 years of reviewing their books and despite living only a little over an hour down the highway, I was finally able to break away and meet the owner of Red Adept Publishing. Came home with unexpected swag. :)

Enjoy your Supernatural, it's going to be a long time until october, waiting for the next season !
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cable or satellite, so we're always behind on current shows. We haven't seen Seasons 9 or 10. Kinda hoping by the time we get through 9, 10 will be up on Netflix.
DeleteBusy week even if you didn't get any reading or review writing done. Fingers crossed for Jessica.
ReplyDeleteI like when I'm less busy. I much prefer reading or even writing reviews over being busy. lol Thanks! :)
DeleteI was catching up with Dean and Sam last night too! Enjoy Jurassic World!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Heather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings
We're 3 epis in and going to watch a few more tonight. Wow, they look so young! lol Jurassic World was pretty good! :)
DeleteThanks!
Fingers, Toes, eyes and whatever else I can cross for her!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I need to catch up with Supernatural we missed last season and haven't seen this season yet. So I am hoping to do that this summer.
I don't go opening weekend either, I would rather be the only people in the movie, I usually go two weeks later first showing on Sunday morning. It's like they just play the movie for me ;)
Have a great week Carol! Happy Reading!!!
Oh, shit! Don't cross your eyes! They'll stick that way. LOL Thanks!
DeleteWe're right there with you guys. We watched 4 epis of season 9, but that's as far as we got before stalling. That's why we wanted to do a rewatch. We're hoping by the time we get through 9, 10 will be available. :)
I really don't like crowds. I don't mind a few people, but crowded places just piss me off. LOL My husband took me to see Whole Nine Yards for my birthday a few weeks after it came out and we were the only people in the whole theater. He said he arranged it, but I knew he was fibbing. :D
Thanks! :)
I have been really interested in Charming. Great week for you chica!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week! Happy reading :)
Here's my weekly wrap up
Michelle @ Book Briefs
I've wanted to read Charming for awhile now, so I'm happy to get the audio for a deal. :)
DeleteThanks! :)
Hope you have fun today and my fingers are crossed for Jessica!! Enjoy your week Carol
ReplyDeleteThe movie was pretty good and there weren't any asshats in the theater. LOL Thanks and thanks! :)
DeleteOh I hate it when shows get cancelled unexpectedly and they end on a season-finale cliffhanger. I guess if they're popular enough we occasionally get a movie later, but not often!
ReplyDeleteI saw that Netflix is going to produce season 4 in 2015. But, hello? It's 2015 and there's still no word on when it will be out! Come on! lol
DeleteHaha, I love your fandom, I get that level of obsession about things I love too!
ReplyDeleteSeveral fandoms keep me pretty busy. hehehe
DeleteIt's late and I am tired. I am looking forward to your review for JR Rains books, I picked them up for free because I love his Samantha Moon books. But I am even behind on them... I do really enjoy your blog, I know I don't post very often. I had a whole comment written on your fairy tale post earlier this week. My computer had rebooted and I wasn't signed in... Needless to say I lost the comment when I managed to get signed in. Dammitall, I know I need to copy my comment when that happens so I can paste it in afterwards... But, my brain farted... ~sigh~
ReplyDeleteBeen there and done that with losing comments. And brain farting. lol Thank you for visiting my blog. I'm glad you enjoy it. :)
DeleteI'm not sure when I'll get to JR Rain's books, but he's been on my radar for quite some time now and damn it, I want to read at least one of them soon! :D
Oh, please go and tag yourself on Red Adepts pictures for the gathering. Please!!! I have seen the pictures but I couldn't pick you out! I bet it was fun. I would love to go to one of these some day when I am independently wealthy and can afford to travel wherever I want.
ReplyDeleteHubby & I were at the pre-party on Fri evening. We weren't able to go to the big party on Sat. :( Maybe next year. If I win the lottery I'm gonna earmark some funds for you to travel to the next party. :D
