AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

I'm late today. Very late. I blame Patricia Briggs and her Machiavellian Night Broken. Well, ok, that might be a tad strong, but I couldn't put it down! I went to bed at 01:30 last night only because I simply couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I'm going to be finishing it today as soon as I can get these nasty household chores done. But at least I'm also making bacon.

There is no word yet on the heat pump, but I have a guy coming tomorrow to give us an estimate to replace the system. He may not be very happy that he'll be here right after the shit suckers. Well, that's what I call them. The poop pumpers, the feces facilitators, the excrement evacuaters? Oh, ok! The septic pump people. Anyway, if I remember correctly from the last time I had the tank pumped it stunk to high heaven for awhile afterword. Not looking forward to that.

In other news, the weather finally cooled down after a storm dumped rain on us for about 16 hrs on Thurs. I've been reading, writing reviews and drafting posts and the rest of my week has plodded along at a fairly uninteresting rate. There are now 19 days left of school. 19 more days of putting up with moron drivers in the car rider lanes at school. Will I survive it?

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I can't believe school is almost over. My son is finished on the 13th of June but my daughter goes till June 25th but I am looking forward to a laid back summer. It rained here a lot also (NJ) so I am glad if finally stopped hope it wont be a wash out of a summer but I heard we might get a lot of rain :(

Have a great week Carol and Happy Reading!!!

    1. I've decided to take it easy this summer. I burnt myself out on tours. Oops. lol It really is hard to believe that school is almost out. In the Fall all 3 of my teens will be in the high school and my daughter will be a Sr. O.O When did *that* happen?!

      Thanks, Michelle! :)

  4. lol - Be glad you don't have to drive in the same area as my son. We almost crashed yesterday. He's awful. Books often keep me up well past midnight, but I gladly suffer when they are so good.

    1. You need those caution flags for your car. lol I don't often stay up late anymore no matter how good the book. If it had been a school night I would forced myself to go to bed, but I knew I could go back to bed after my husband got up to go to work. :)

    1. Doesn't it always feel good to get the reading (and eventually the writing of the reviews) done? I love it! :)

    1. Bacon makes everything better. Except maybe sand in the bathing suit. Nothing makes that better except a shower. lol I wish we had a summer vacation! Though I guess not having to get up early counts. lol Thanks!

  7. LOL an entertaining post as always. I hope you have your heat pump issues sorted soon and it's not too stinky after you have your septic tank pumped. Love the bacon pic too, gave me a giggle.

  8. Mmmm, bacon. Maybe if you offer some to the pump guy, maybe he won't mind the smell so much. It's worth a try.

Ah, Night Broken, What did you think? I liked it. :)

Three kids in high school I don't envy you. Good luck.

    1. O.O Share my bacon?! Are you crazy?! LOL

I loved it except for a few things. I want the next book! Like, right now! :D

They're good kids. But having to deal with pre-college crap...*shudder* My oldest went into the Marines. I didn't have to mess with college stuff for him.

  9. LOL! The Shit Suckers, I'm going to have to remember that. I hated the two times we had the septic tank guys here in the past years...smells horrible! I avoided going outside because of it...also because you sort of feel horrible knowing that you and your family have made the cul-de-sac smell bad.

    1. It really does. I wonder if these guys have a sense of smell left anymore? *shudder* Poor neighbors. If we must suffer then so must everyone else. LOL
