AVR News Update
Happy New Year and Happy Sunday! We had a quiet New Year's Eve since my husband had to work day shift. He was home in plenty of time to shower, eat and ring in the New Year with us. We had champagne, watched the ball drop, hugged and kissed the kids then was in bed by 12:30. :D

I am battling a cold at this moment. Runny nose, sneezing, stuffy head, sore throat and sinus pressure along with a stiff neck. I was the only one who hadn't picked this crud up, but I guess my family decided that the Sharing is Caring Rule needed to be implemented. So here I am. Yay. Not. Why couldn't they have shared the candy that came in their stockings instead. I can take comfort in the fact that the kids have to go back to school tomorrow after 2 weeks off. That'll learn 'em!

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  3. Awesome Haul! You got so many books last week :) I've heard Outlander is amazing, as is the rest of the series. I have it on my Kindle, but haven't gotten to it yet. The Walking Dark looks good too! I love scary stories! Thanks for stopping by my book haul :)

    1. I started reading Outlander over a year-and-a-half ago, but just can't seem to finish it. So I figured an audio would work while on my treadmill. Now, just need to get rid of this cold, so I feel like walking. lol

    1. The sinus pressure has subsided quite a bit, but the nose is now running all over the place, little booger. Hoping it's on the way out the door. The cold, not my nose. *fingers crossed*

      Thanks! :)

  8. Aw, sorry you're sick. I've been sick for the past week and it's awful! New Year's Eve was spent staying in and watching Doctor Who, which is fine by me, if only I felt a BIT better.

I really want to read The Waking Dark. Hope you like it.

    1. Being sick sucks on so many levels. Way more levels than Candy Crush though I don't play it, so my only frame of reference is other people's grumbling about it. LOL

It was on Kimba's list, so I grabbed it. Gotta love gift cards for Christmas. :)

  10. Thanks for stopping by my Sunday post at Gin's Book Notes. I am looking forward to your audio review of Poison Study. That was the very first audio book I listened to many years ago and it is one that I still love. The narrator is great! I hope you get to feeling better soon.My Sunday Post...

  14. Booo for being sick. Hope you feel better. My son still has 2 more weeks off, which I'm okay with only because that means less chance of him bringing germs home. I loved Outlander, so I hope you enjoy it!

  16. I'm so sorry you're sick... can you lift your head to read or do you just not have the energy to do even that?!?! I've got the sinusitis thing w/ the rockin' headache from hell so I can't read too often. I hope you get better real soon!!!!!

I see you took advantage of the sale on Joe Hill books, too! I was telling Kimba that I almost picked up NOS242 but I ended up not getting it. It got rave reviews and was on some of the lists I saw for best books of 2013. I'm just not a fan of Stephen King and this book sounded too much like him, being it's his son and all.

Now, go get better, darn it!!

    1. I've been reading and reading. My eyes are scratchy and itchy, nose is running and the sneezing is a pain, but the sinus pressure seems to have eased up. Thank goodness! :)

I've heard good things about hill's books and that he writes different from his dad. I'm not a fan of King, so I decided to give NOS4A2 a try. Hope I like it. *fingers crossed*

      Thanks! :)

  17. I am sorry you're sick. I usually get a runny nose in the winter but that would usually involve me leaving the house which I haven't... so I am safe for now. I am sure I'll be carrying packets of tissues with me soon. :P

OUTLANDER! I'll probably get around to the books someday.

Happy New Year and.. well HAPPY READING (because that's the important bit).

    1. I got pretty sick this time last year. It started out as a cold and ended up being asthmatic bronchitis that didn't go away until nearly March. So far, this seems to be just a cold. *fingers crossed*

I keep trying to read it, so figured an audio might work better in my schedule.

      Exactly! Thanks! :D
