AVR News Update
For once, this has been a fairly quiet week here. Yes, there have been a few kids sick, but nothing serious. The most exciting thing to happen was I won a book in a LibraryThing Giveaway that I didn't even enter. *fist pump* Score! I also rec'd in my mailbox a book for review from an author. My husband will be able to read that one before I do and he loves mysteries, so he's happy. I will figure out a way for him to guest review that, but since he does not like to write I may make it interview style. lol

I got very little read today (Saturday) since I was busy doing household chore-type stuff and then I went outside to engage in Battle II of Leafageddon. I and my loyal companion, That-Which-Blows-Leaves, were victorious though it took 3 hours of strenuous fighting. I am sore already. I do not want to think how I will feel tomorrow. I wish my mattress was one big hot water bottle. I have a feeling I'm gonna need it.

AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Remember back in the day when some beds WERE big hot water bottles! My brother actually had one! I never thought those things were comfortable, though. In my old age I've embraced the HEATING PAD!!! Oh, I how I love 'the!!!!

  4. I haven't heard before of most of the books you got this week. I did came across What The Plus once when I was searching for a good book about google+, if I remember correctly I ended up buying Google + for dummies instead, only read the first few pages.

  5. Leafageddon, good one! A long hot soak in a bubble bath might help with the sore muscles.

    Happy reading :)

  6. I'm so glad that the only leaves we have are in the backyard which don't need to be raked. I do not miss raking leaves at all, lol. I hope you and your hubby enjoys the new books!

    1. I do love the trees all year long. It's the leaves on the ground I don't enjoy. lol I can't believe we raked leaves for a few years before we bought our 1st leaf blower. O.O

  22. Sorry to hear about the sick kids; I hope everyone is feeling better now. I laughed at your description of battling leaves with your trusty companion. My husband did the same thing on Sunday afternoon. He did an awesome job despite the handicap of finishing well after dark, but he's been pretty sore, too!

    1. Everyone appears to be better now. *fingers crossed* I've been known to battle leaves after dark, too. I'm glad I got done before that this time though. I'm lobbying hard for a backpack blower. The handheld makes the muscles in my shoulders down to my hands sore. lol
