AVR News Update
For once, this has been a fairly quiet week here. Yes, there have been a few kids sick, but nothing serious. The most exciting thing to happen was I won a book in a LibraryThing Giveaway that I didn't even enter. *fist pump* Score! I also rec'd in my mailbox a book for review from an author. My husband will be able to read that one before I do and he loves mysteries, so he's happy. I will figure out a way for him to guest review that, but since he does not like to write I may make it interview style. lol
I got very little read today (Saturday) since I was busy doing household chore-type stuff and then I went outside to engage in Battle II of Leafageddon. I and my loyal companion, That-Which-Blows-Leaves, were victorious though it took 3 hours of strenuous fighting. I am sore already. I do not want to think how I will feel tomorrow. I wish my mattress was one big hot water bottle. I have a feeling I'm gonna need it.
AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Remember back in the day when some beds WERE big hot water bottles! My brother actually had one! I never thought those things were comfortable, though. In my old age I've embraced the HEATING PAD!!! Oh, I how I love 'the!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the surprise win and hope you get some reading done today!!
Yep, I had one, too. I still even have the foundation for it, double drawers and everything but we got a regular mattress now instead. lol
DeleteThanks! :)
Ah, yes, water beds! (hot water bottles).
ReplyDeleteHeating pads are my constant companion...any exercise requires it.
Enjoy your haul...and here's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
Do they even still make waterbeds? lol
DeleteThanks! :)
Ok the Biker looks hot, and WWZ rocked. I love your idea of interviewing your man for his review..go for it! Have a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteI thought so, too! I hope it's as good as it looks. ;)
DeleteI think I will interview him. I'm not sure how else to do it since he doesn't like to write. lol
I haven't heard before of most of the books you got this week. I did came across What The Plus once when I was searching for a good book about google+, if I remember correctly I ended up buying Google + for dummies instead, only read the first few pages.
ReplyDeleteI do tend to come across the odd books. lol I haven't cracked What the Plus open yet, but if it's not what I need then at least I got it from the library. :)
DeleteYay for the win. Enjoy the new books.
ReplyDeleteJenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
Thanks! :) *holds up victory signs*
DeleteLeafageddon, good one! A long hot soak in a bubble bath might help with the sore muscles.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading :)
I debated Leafapocalypse, but Leafageddon sounded better since I do battle. lol
DeleteI'm so glad that the only leaves we have are in the backyard which don't need to be raked. I do not miss raking leaves at all, lol. I hope you and your hubby enjoys the new books!
ReplyDeleteI do love the trees all year long. It's the leaves on the ground I don't enjoy. lol I can't believe we raked leaves for a few years before we bought our 1st leaf blower. O.O
DeleteLeafageddon, LOL. Tell me about it, that gets old quick doesn't it? Congrats on the win and have a good week.
ReplyDeleteIt does! The 1st battle of the season, not so bad. Every one after that...ugh. lol
DeleteThanks! :)
I know about those sore bones. Heating pads are the best. Congrats on the win! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly I wasn't too sore. I pray to the Ibuprofen Gods. lol
DeleteThanks! :)
Wow amazing books! I hope you enjoy reading them :) Have a great week
ReplyDeleteMe, too! Thanks! :)
DeleteCongrats on getting all those leaves. You deserve a good rest, with a book of course!
ReplyDeleteI should have posted before and after pics. lol I did finish a book (or two or three), so all is right in my world. :)
DeleteI loved the movie World War Z, and have been wanting to read the book! You got a ton of awesome looking kindle freebies this week! Happy Reading :)
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
We picked it up at Redbox. Hubs and kids didn't like it, so I decided to get the audio and see what they thought of it.
DeleteThanks! :)

My daughter & I both wanted to read WWZ, but haven't gotten around to it yet, so I figured listening to the audio would be the next best thing. :)

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
I was a bit sore, but mostly back to normal now. :)
DeleteThanks!
Sorry to hear about the sick kids; I hope everyone is feeling better now. I laughed at your description of battling leaves with your trusty companion. My husband did the same thing on Sunday afternoon. He did an awesome job despite the handicap of finishing well after dark, but he's been pretty sore, too!
ReplyDeleteEveryone appears to be better now. *fingers crossed* I've been known to battle leaves after dark, too. I'm glad I got done before that this time though. I'm lobbying hard for a backpack blower. The handheld makes the muscles in my shoulders down to my hands sore. lol
