AVR News Update
Weather has been a bit up & down here. Nice then rainy then nice then rainy. Good news is that it hasn't been hot enough for the A/C or cold enough for the heat, so I haven't had my unit on since 9/15. Yay for a lower electric bill.

Our van is having battery issues and I've never, of all the vehicles I have ever owned, had a vehicle do what it is doing. We replaced the battery and the charging system is fine, but every few days it's hard to start. For some reason the negative cable keeps getting slightly loose and we have to tighten it. I'll tell you this, it is a royal pain in our damn ass. I'm beginning to wish we had opted for a car payment last year and bought a truck instead of replacing the engine in the van. Never ever ever will we buy another GM product. Ever.

Monday I cut nearly 18" off my hair and donated it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths who do not charge cancer patients for their wigs. Unlike Locks of Love. I wish I'd known that before I donated twice to them. This is my 2nd donation to PBL (last donation Nov. 2010) and I hope to donate again in about 2.5 yrs.

Oh! My 2 year Blogoversary was yesterday but since I completely lost track of time I had nothing planned. Maybe next year. :)

That's all from me this week. This is AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  4. *drools over the books, especially the Kensington ones*

Ah, sorry about that. *wipes away the drool*

You got some wonderful looking books. I see lots of dragn books. :) Have you read the series, Pigs Don't Fly, by Mary Brown? It has a dragon hero. :)

I had no idea that locks of love charged for their wigs, that's good to know. Good for you for donating your hair.

    1. *hands bib* S'ok. Happens all the time around here. ;)

I'm not sure how I ended up with all the dragon books. Sometimes it's just the way the books fall. lol I'll have to look up the Brown book. :)

      Thanks! I didn't know either!

  5. It is wonderful that you donated your hair. I did it for the first time last year in honor of my both of my parents who dies of cancer. I'm growing it out again so I can do it again. It helps so many people. Enjoy the books you got.
