My Rating ~ 4 bites and a nibble

Charley has done it this time. She sent her husband, the Son of Satan, into a Hell dimension to do a little recon and he came out with a bad attitude. A really bad attitude. And he is not himself. Well, mostly not. Charley is hoping against all hopes that some part of her husband is still inside Reyes. That he hasn’t gone completely Dark Side. But she can’t track him on her own. She’s tried. So, she has to 'fess up to her crew what she has done. Of all the screw ups Charley has done, this is quite the doozy. But, of course, it’s not the only thing on her plate. When does she ever only have one crisis to deal with at a time? Um, never? So, she has to do something about her Sithy husband and handle all of her everyday tasks, such as her PI business, helping the recently deceased to cross, watching out for her friends and her daughter, and solving some murders. You know, the usual.

In the words of George Takei…Oh, Myyyyyy! Where do I, how do I, even start with this? If you pick up this book as an entrance into the series I’m going to look at you like you’ve lost your mind. And I just might have to hurt you. Just a little. There is no way you can start here. So, shoo. Go back to book 1 and start there. Trust me on this. If you have ridden this crazy awesome ride with me then just know this book does not disappoint. Humor, mystery, tears, action, excitement, paranormal shenanigans, sarcasm, more humor, hot sexiness, and gut punches. This series still delivers it all. And that double ending?! What is it with Darynda Jones and her endings? Here’s the end…nope. Just kidding. Here’s the real end…wait for it…GAH! WTF?! She gets me with this Every.Single.Time. There are several WTF moments, but that’s par for the course in every book. Knowing that there will be those WTF moments does not lessen their impact. At.All. Each time is like a gut punch. But those endings. OMG. You are killing me Ms. Jones. Killing.Me.

    1. This series is a must-read. When a new book comes out I push every other book aside and devour it. A word of warning: once you read the first book, be sure you have all the rest. Because reasons.
