--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Lots of rain and a bit busy, but otherwise stable on the homefront. Trip's graduation is fast approaching. He finished his Senior project, so he pretty much only needs to show up for attendance now. Senior Awards were Fri. He received one and they spelled Trip as Tripp. Really? Is this a Southern thing because they do that a lot here.

In other news, we went to a publisher party on Friday evening and had fun. This is our 3rd party with Red Adept Publishing, a small publisher here in NC. They have some of the best books I've read. If you haven't read any of their books please check them out. They pub several genres, so there should be something for everyone. Last year we went to an Room Escape (a group has to solve clues to get out of a room before a zombie "eats" us), but this year they had a Mobile Room Escape and it came to the party. No zombie, but still timed and clues to solve in order not to "die." My group of 5 died. We suck. lol Though we were fairly close to solving it all. It was very fun! If you have anything like that in your area (they are a national franchise) then I highly recommend trying them out! Make sure you have at least one person who's good at solving puzzles. lol

In other other news, we did not take apart the dryer yet. We just don't feel like it. lol We'll probably do it tomorrow since hubby is off. It's actually one of his scheduled days, but the plant decided to close Sat, Sun and Mon. Yeah, not generous. They just didn't have enough orders to fill. Whatever. He'll take the extra day off (this was his F-S-S off), so 4-day weekend for him.

Touching Nature: Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, sunny, rain...guess I should have built an ark. It was finally mostly sunny Friday and we had 4 pine trees cut down. Every bit of 100' and close to the house, so we hired someone to do it. Pretty cool and a bit nerve-racking, but they're down with no structural damage. Yesterday was sunny all day (it rained all night last night, wtf Ma Nature?!), so we were outside cleaning up and burning brush, fixing the drive (again) and other stuff. Maybe if it doesn't rain today we can work some more outside tomorrow.

Book News: I've managed to write all but one review for the books I finished. Other than that, I got nothing to share.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Finally! Finally watched a few more Supernatural. I threatened to watch it on my own if we didn't start watching it again. We just started Season 10 and now Season 12 has been added to Netflix. GAH! So far behind!

At the Flicks: Not yet, but we may go see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales soon.

Cyberspace Playground: I haven't watched anything online worth noting.

Randomness: This. Thanks to my daughter Anna for sharing it. LOLOL
And this. (it's a Star Wars funny video)
Thanks to Alex (Anna's boyfriend) for sharing it from iFunny. LOLOL
Sorry, I don't know how to share a video that's not on YouTube. :D

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Write shit down. Trust me. You will NOT remember it later.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. Nope. No parties. But we will have cake. And then he'll turn 18 3 days after graduation. So, more cake. :D

  2. Oh I have always thought those breakout room things were such a cool idea. but I don't function well under pressure, so I know I would 'die".

    1. I'm not really good at solving puzzles, but my husband is, so I'm surprised we died. lol We were fairly close though.

  3. Oh man. Look at those books. I wants them. LOL I've enjoyed many books from Red Adept. Found some great authors through them too. I've heard of those Rooms. I'd like one with monsters. LOL

    1. The zombie one was very hard on the nerves. Fun to watch, but I probably wouldn't be goodunder that kind of pressure. The Mobile one was just timed. No monster trying to get us. Just an imaginary potion that we drank that was killing us and we had to solve all the puzzles to get the formula for the antidote. That was more my speed even though I suck at puzzles.
