AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Great Scott!! It's November!! 2015 is 5/6 complete or approximately 83% uploaded. Shiiiiiiit. Seriously. Whoever hit fast forward needs to pause for a bit. While I'm looking forward to shaking this damn year off my heels, I would like to savor the last of it. Especially if we can make it to the end without any more issues. That would be nice. *knocks on wood*

Also, yesterday was our 18th anniversary. We can't believe it's been so long! We feel like it's only been a few years and we said, "Who are those teenagers in our house?" LOL

On the Home Front: I did quite a bit of stuff, but don't really remember what. Except for Weds. See below. Today I'll be taking down Halloween decorations and putting up Thanksgiving ones. I do not anticipate any nommynom baking.

Touching Nature: I spent about 20 minutes blowing the huge catalpa leaves in front of our house into the woods before it rained Tuesday afternoon. Because they are ginormous and if I had let them get wet they would have been a slipping hazard and impossible for trusty Leaf Blower to get rid of.

Book News: Starting tomorrow I will be posting my reviews for my own NetGalley November Challenge. I have 2 weeks ready to go (Mon-Fri), plus 2 Christmas books that I'll post after Thanksgiving. My goal was 20 books and I'm sitting on 12 complete. There's still time to get some done, but I'm not going to get all het up if I don't make it. I'm currently 20 books behind on my yearly challenge, but I have 4 books (for InD'tale) that will get added on Sat. and another 5 next month when InD'tale Magazine publishes the Holiday issue. Plus the graphic novels I have from the library. I'm not worried. Yet. :)

Don't Touch That Dial!: Tuesday we sat down to eat lunch and we only had time for one show to watch because I had to take Jessica to the DDS, so I decided to try Arrow which led to an Arrow marathon (15 epis) on Weds. Man, I fucking love that show! I want an Arrow action figure now to add to my Round Table of Nomminess that includes Ironman, Wolverine, Thor and Qui-Gon Jinn. We also watched the Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover on Thurs. I do not typically watch regular tv because a lot of time the digital antenna doesn't keep a steady picture going. It drives me insane to have the picture flick in and out. Plus, I don't watch Sleepy Hollow (yet), that's the guys thing (according to Trip). But why didn't anyone tell me how fucking adorable Ichabod Crane is?! I need to see if he has an action figure. lol Also!!!! Longmire is getting a Season 5!! WOOT!! *faints from excitement*

At the Flicks: No monies for flicks. :(

Cyberspace Playground: No time for swimming in the data stream, outside of Facebook anyway. Not even for porn. lol Just kidding. Maybe. *winks*

Randomness: This is *exactly* how I eat mine.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Yeah this is the part where I stop loving fall and start hating the coming winter, LOL. Although hopefully we have some time yet. Happy anniversary!

Yay for Arrow huh? I just finished up Season 3, I discovered it not that long ago too. Good show. And the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow or whatever it's called looks good too...

  2. I look forward to the winter holidays and then want to fast forward to spring. LOl I loathe cold weather. Even though I live in southern climes, it still gets some very cold days. I keep meaning to watch Arrow. Everyone who does, raves about it!

    Happy Anniversary!

Time is just flying! Why is it the older we get the faster it goes? That is so not fair!

I am doing a quiet Netgalley Challenge, trying to get some books I have sitting around read but I also have a bit of blogging to get done so I might be slow on reading the first week so so.

I am pretty sure that is how my husband eat's pumpkin pie too.

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  6. I am ready for the year to be over but I also wouldn't mind a bit of a slow down...lol. Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorites and if I would have known you didn't know about Icabod I so would have told you...lol. He is adorable!! I am so excited for Season 5 Longmire, I feel like I can finally let out the breathe I was holding in anticipation! My dad loves it so much he wants to go to Buffalo, WY for Longmire Days next year...kind of excited...lol. :)

    Every month I think I ma doing a Netgalley November Challenge....lol. :)

    1. I like this time of year to slow down a bit so I can enjoy the holidays. Sweet Sleepy Hollow! He is just too adorable! What's funny is I don't see him as a sexy nommy guy, but just so...cute. lol As far as Longmire is concerned...you and me both! Whew! I was sweating it, hoping there would be a 5th Season. And going to WY sounds like fun!

I really need to be more diligent in the future and not rely on November to get those NetGalley books read. lol

  7. Oh, you got the museum cozy! That one is making the rounds. :D

I knew you'd like Arrow. The current season is Hulu so once you catch up on past seasons, then you can jump into the current one. :)

Good luck with your NetGalley November; it looks like you are off to a good start. Now stay away from Mother Nature and go read some books!

    1. I couldn't resist it. lol

Omg, it's just so awesome! lol I'll probably just wait for Netflix to add the next season. I'm not overly fond of Hulu. In fact, I'm thinking of cancelling it. Plus, I like having the option to binge or not. :D

I'm working on book 13. I have some InD'tale reviews I need to write and 2 more books to finish for them by the 10th. So I need to get crackin'. As opposed to Kraken, which might be cool but terrifying.

  8. Happy Anniversary! I love Arrow although I am behind on last season. I have a Funko doll of him at work and look at him to brighten up my day lol. And I love Ichabod Crane!! He is hot and such a fun character. I need to catch up on my Netgalley ARCs too so my plan is to just read those until the end of the year. I hope you have a good week and happy reading =)

    1. Thank you! I'm still in the first season. I haven't gotten back to it yet, but I'm itching to. lol And Ichabod is just too adorable. :)

My NetGalley % is not very good, so hopefully I'll bring that up this month.

  10. Happy belated anniversary ! I love Ichabod Crane too, he's practically the only reason I watched the show ! I didn't know there had been a crossover with Bones, I'll have to look it up. I can't wait to get rid of 2015 and meet 2016, though, the year sped by but it's been harsh. Good riddance ! Have a great week ;)

I agree about 2015 getting the boot. I want to enjoy the holidays and then I'll be so happy to kick it to the curb. lol

  11. Okay, I have been a fan of graphic novels for a while but I have never been able to get into actual superhero comics. Except now I am reading Black Widow Forever Red (or listening to it) and holy crap I want more. I have been wanting to watch Arrow for awhile and my older bro says the new Flash show is good, too. Ahhh... the choices. The Girl Who Tweeted Wolf & Christmas Nookies sound sooo good! Enjoy all the books :D

    1. I'm not sure about Flash, but oh, man Arrow...*drools* I have read less than a handful of superhero comics, but I'm really into the Buffy/Angel ones. Then there are others that are pretty good that have been adapted from books, like Dresden and Artemis Fowl. I've picked up a bunch of classics from the library and those are hit or miss. Yeah, I may be addicted to graphic novels now. lol I need add Black Widow Forever Red to my TBR. I read a novel about Spike & Dru by Christopher Golden that was really good. I need to look into more of those.
