AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

So the heat around here this week sucked big, hairy, sweaty, donkey balls. Seriously! It's September now which in my eyes is the start of Fall. Dafuq, Mother Nature?! Luckily, it looks like we'll be a lot cooler today and the foreseeable future. We took the kids to the RV show yesterday and it was so damn hot out I thought we'd been magically transported to Mustafar.

In other news, I'm seriously considering putting an application in at the new Sheetz Distribution Center. I have the relevant experience, but I haven't had a regular-type job since 1996. O.O I delivered the newspaper for 10 years (98-08) and during that time (02-06) I went to college full-time & did work study as well as had a family to take care of. I definitely haz me some skillz, but I really need to make a new resume before I submit my application though. So...this should be interesting. Unless anyone knows of a job I can do from home, in my jammies. That would really be ideal. *winks*

I started my 99¢ Challenge and I hope you all are enjoying the reviews as much as I enjoyed reading the books. The only problem is I am now down to 3 reviews drafted, so I need to kick it into high gear or abandon the project. Hopefully I won't need to do that, but I'm not going to sweat it if I have to.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. My feet are cold and I wear a cardigan, can I move to your place to feel some heat ? ;) I'm afraid I don't have an answer for your jammies question, else I would be doing that job myself lol
The cranberry covers made me laugh ! Have a great week ;)

  2. In the city where I live, the weather is quite volatile. From mid August until last week, it was really cold (I know that sounds weird, but global warming is real lol), but a few days ago, it was warm like hell @_@
looks like you have a lot of good books there! hope you'll enjoy them! Have a great week and hope you do well with the job applications.

    1. Our weather has been weird. Can't tell me the Industrial Age had nothing to do with it.

I'm kinda hoping I don't get the job. lol

  4. I'm waiting on the weather to decide it's SUMMER for my half of the hemisphere. Gah! I mean 1st of September SHOULD mean insta-weather change, right?! ;) Well. Here's to it getting colder for you and hotter (yaaay!) for me. And job in your pjs....author?! lol ;)

    1. It should really be cooling down, not heating up around here. *sigh*

I've been bugged repeatedly to write the book that's been rattling around in my noggin. Maybe I should. Hmmm...

  5. The weather has been really hot here this week too. Shoot, I actually got in the pool yesterday. Although that might be the last time I'm able to get in this year. We'll see. Hope you enjoy your new books! And good luck with your 99 cent challenge!

  6. I understand completely. I was a deputy for several years and decided I wanted to be at home until my kids were bigger. So, I have been a stay at home mom for almost 6 years, and I would have some serious anxiety if I was to go back to work. Good luck. Enjoy your week.

    1. I should jsut write the book everyone has been telling me they want to read. I started it in Creative Writing and it's been wallowing in my head for nearly a decade. Hmmm...

  7. It was hot as Hell yesterday and this morning I woke up in fall. Mother Nature is Bi-Polar. I am hoping it stays like this now until winter because this weather is perfect.

Good Luck with the job hunt. We want to move but moving would mean I need to get a new job and I just can't afford to look for one right now. So It's a tough spot to be in, I do hope you find something quickly!

Have a great week!!! Happy Reading :)

    1. I'm beginning to think of Ma Nature as that toad Dolores Umbridge. *grinds teeth*

We need the income, but I've been out of the workforce so long I'm not sure I can fit back in. *sigh*

  9. We've had a fairly cool summer but these last few weeks the temps have decided to stay in the 90s. I wouldn't mind it cooling down a bit because I like fall clothes better! Love the books you got this week! Good luck with the job decision!

  11. If you find a job that you can do at home in your pjs... hook a sister up. I loved my previous job which was working the front desk at Joshua Tree National Park but the Mr. got transferred to a new area and now I'm back at square one. I'd love to have a paying job where I didn't have to leave the house. Strangely enough given the blogging, I'm not a huge people person. :P

  12. Oh, The Killer Wore Cranberry books look fun! It was hot here too but 80s, not 90s. Still, I'm ready for cooler temps. I hope you can keep up the 99 cents challenge but if you can't, no worries. And oh, I would love a job I could do from home in my jammies! Heaven.
