Blog News ~ Extra! Extra!

Hello My Fellow Bookworms!

I just wanted to give a heads up that I will be scarce for the next few weeks. The kids are leaving for Ohio to visit my parents and with hubby working many hours, I will have the house to myself to finally get some seriously serious reading done. Seriously. ;) I'm going to get ahead of the game and get a good cache of reviews built up, as well as rearrange the furniture on the blog. I won't be painting or putting down new carpet, but I'm going to redesign the layout with a view towards advertising.

The blog may look a bit wonky for a bit while I figure it out, but I'm hoping to post a message on Fiverr for authors looking to get their book cover out there or mention a sale. I'm thinking, $5 for 7 days since my following isn't really large yet. The ad would be no bigger than the book covers I currently post, but they would be posted together, most likely on the left side of my blog, keeping my 'Currently Reading' covers on the right with my blog post in the middle. I can include a link with the picture to wherever the advertiser would like the curious to go. Anyway, it's just a thought right now. Details to come.

I'm also working on some Spotlight Posts that should start the beginning of August. These posts will contain a few book reviews grouped together spotlighting an author or publisher. I have a graphic in mind, just need to get it drawn up.

Another new feature or meme will be the Time Turner Tuesday where I review a book published years ago, whether I reread a favorite or finally read one that has been languishing on my TBR. I have details and kinks to work out for those features. I'm hoping others will join me.

Lastly, I'm working on getting organized enough to join The Sunday Post, a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It's a lot to do in two weeks, so my posting will most likely be limited to quick reviews of shorts I've picked up for free here and there.

PS: Don't hate me for being in a Kid-Free Zone for two weeks. I wait all year for this.
