Last Liar Standing

Vonny Kwan wakes up in a Nevada hospital, the victim of a hit-and-run accident she doesn’t remember. As she struggles to recover from her injuries, she learns that she also has no memory of the past nine years, including her marriage and what she was even doing in the West.

While she’s still reeling from the shock of her amnesia, two detectives visit and inform her that her husband, John, was recently murdered. As more information comes to light, Vonny grows increasingly suspicious of everyone around her.

Vonny realizes she must piece together the last decade to uncover the truth. The missing chunk of time holds secrets about the person she became, the mysterious man she fell for, and the life she never wanted.

My Rating ~ 4 bites and a nibble

Vonny Kwan’s life is a mystery. To her and the folks at the Nevada hospital she woke up in after being hit by a car. She remembers her name and firmly believes she just graduated college. However, that was nine years ago. What?! When detectives come to see her they hit her with the news that her husband was murdered. In San Francisco. Why is she in Nevada? Did she do it? Was her accident an accident? Or is someone out to get them - get her?

Ohhhhh! This is a good one! The very beginning is a grabber and it doesn’t let go until the curtain comes down. Being inside Vonny’s head while she tries to recover from her accident and trying to figure out what the hell is going on, all the while wondering if she’s the victim or not is a nail biter for sure. Did she or didn’t she? Why are nine whole years missing from her memory? Why not more? Why not less? What happened to her after she graduated college? As the pieces slowly fall into place I’m left wondering until the very end what is actually going on. Wow. What a ride!
