Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Last Sunday started out with some snow for a couple of hours (really tiny flakes) then it sleeted for something like 6 hrs then Ma Nature decided to ice that fucking cake with some freezing rain. It.Was.A.Mess. Luckily hubby and Kyle had Monday off because our drive was slick and our road didn't get plowed until Tuesday late afternoon. They did go to work Tuesday though. Thank goodness for AWD. My Pilot has 4WD so I had no problem getting out. Anna's car only has front wheel drive and she wasn't going up the drive with that bitch. Front wheel drive is shit in slick weather.  She couldn't get out until it mostly melted which wasn't until Friday for her. Then last night we got about 2" of snow. On top of the icy mess still down by the house (the rest of the drive wasn't too bad). I went out in the Pilot no problem so we could get our Pokestop (our road was very slick, the main road not too bad), but I couldn't get Anna's car up the drive. So, once again, she had to call off work. She wasn't upset about it, but her boss at Goodwill wasn't thrilled. Too bad. If she can't get to work with her own car then she can't get to work. Yeah, I could have taken her in the Pilot or hubby in his CR-V, but as far as I'm concerned Goodwill shouldn't even have been open. So fuck them. Anna didn't care either way. She's not enthusiastic about her job, can you tell? lol Andrew spent the night and we ended up having to pull his car up the drive with the tractor. We'll do that to Anna's car tomorrow if we can't get it up on it's own. It's supposed to be warmer tomorrow than today so shit should melt some more even though it's going to freeze again tonight and every night this week, I think. Ugh. This weather is total shit for NC. LOL

Anyway, that's pretty much it for me this week. It was all about the snow/sleet/ice mess that was just starting to go away when it was topped off by some more snow. But not enough to sled which makes me irate. I just wanted to sled, dammit!

Touching Nature: Cold. 🥶Snow, sleet, ice. ❆ Warmed up a bit. More snow. North Carolina does not like this weather. It would like to speak to the manager.

Book News: I have 14 reviews to write. And a book to finish (then review to write) for a tour this week. I also got a bunch of tour books that will be coming up in the next couple of months. Luckily, I already read the 1st one for Thursday, but I need to write up the review.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching The Mentalist and the Hurricanes. We have 2 episodes of The Witcher left then maybe we can catch up on The Book of Boba Fett.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Don't leave your ghost behind.
That's rude.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I also live in NC but I am glad it is cold. I wish it would be cold long enough to kill off all the bugs...but not likely to happen. I also enjoy the brief periods of snow we do get because it finally feels like we get some winter. Have a great week. https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/01/stacking-shelves-7sunday-post-4.html

  2. I don't mind the weather here in NC the past week. I'm least happy about the freezing rain. But the snow is nothing. In Minnesota they'd laugh and 30s is shorts and Tshirt weather. Of course, in Minnesota they have all the great road equipment and experience. I did well there with front wheel drive but real wheel drive was impossible. I lived at the top of a hill so I could always get out but couldn't always get back up again. Luckily we had a parking pad along the road. Good luck writing all your reviews!

  3. Lol poor ghost got left behind!

OMG I'm stressed just reading all the weather - if it's bad enough that you are paying attention to your wheel drive I'm most definitely not leaving the house 😂. I'm glad y'all managed to navigate it though and stayed safe. Hopefully mother nature behaves a bit better moving forward.
