--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: My house feels so amazing! Funny how much negative energy affects a space and you don't even realize how shitty it is until it's gone. A huge bonus is that we had the grandkiddos Thursday. So far, all is well. I've learned that can change in a heartbeat though, but I'm not going to worry about whatifs or maybes.

In other news, my hubby is definitely moving to 2nd shift starting tomorrow. He'd been working 12 hrs day shift (which is hilarious because he'd leave at 6:10am and sometimes not get home until 9:00 or 9:30pm - 12 hrs my ass), 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off since 2012. He used to be 2nd shift before that. While he (and I) loved this schedule of 2 days off after working 2 then getting every other F-S-S off, at least he's on 2nd where he'll have mornings off. And he should work only a few Saturdays (so they say, we've learned not to trust that shit) and he should have most Sundays off. We'll see. I swear, the way management is running things lately, it's almost like they are passively trying to get the plant to shut down. The decisions are fucked up. Hubby is polishing his resume, just in case. He has been with the company since 1994. About 6 months after hiring on he went active duty with the Marines for 3 years and returned to the company in 1997, but seniority stays. So, he's nearing the 25 yr mark. And he's planning on returning to college in the Spring to finish the last two classes he needs for his BS in Comp Sci. This year has seen some big changes for us. I'd prefer if those changes stop for awhile. Unless we win a chunk of change on a scratch off or something. I could handle that.

Speaking of changes, I'm leaving InD'tale Magazine soon. Let's just say there's been a difference of opinion and I've decided to move on. InD'tale has been a huge part of my life for 5 years, even more so in the last year. I will have lots of time soon to get my blog back into shape. It's been quite neglected lately. And I have other plans in the works. But first, I'm taking a much needed break.

Touching Nature: The weather has been gorgeous. Sunny to partly sunny with temps dipping into the 50s at night and reaching into the 70s during the day. I've had the A/C off all week. Irma should not affect us overmuch here in central NC. We're supposed to get some rain and a bit of wind, but I'm not worried.

Book News: I finished the 4 book reviews I needed to do. I have 2 more to write including my last one for InD'tale Magazine.

Don't Touch That Dial!: There's been some Twilight Zone, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and NCIS going on now that I'm freeing up time.

At the Flicks: Nope, not yet. Creeping closer.

Cyberspace Playground: Have not done any playing on the computer. My smartphone, on the other hand, now has 3 word games on it (to join my only other game, Mahjong) and I'm constantly playing them. Boy, do they suck the battery down though!

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Don't stop yourself from doing things because you're scared. Or worried. Do your research and then make a decision. Just don't dither forever because the opportunity may pass you by and never return.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I just have to say I LOVED Bah, Humbug. It was so cute and Miss Kane Christmas was cute too. I think I read almost all of that series.

I am glad the negetive is out of the house. I know how much better it will make you feel. I am glad you got the Grandkids. If you need a chat, I am always around! :)

Looking forward to what you have planned and good Luck to your hubby! Changes can be so hard to get used too but I hope every thing works out, I also hope you win a chunk of change...remember your friends! ;)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  4. It is incredible how negative energy can impact you. It's so refreshing when it's gone!! I am glad you are able to see your grandkids - I hope that continues to be the case. I hope things work out for your husband - that's a long time to be with the company. I hope you get to all the things you want to after you leave the magazine.
