Updated eBook Queue Page

Ok, I believe I have everyone in the queue. If you have asked for a review, I have said yes and you have sent a book, but don't see it in the queue then please, please, please email me, so I can correct it. I had many requests coming in all at once and while I tried to keep track of them I am only human and a blonde human at that. A tired, blonde human with kids, a husband, 3 kittens and 2 dogs. During the holidays. With a new blog and Twitter account to get up and running. And a very first eReader in the form of a Kindle Fire to learn how to navigate. Who also ran out of chocolate!!

Ok, ok, I know you get the picture. I haven't left anyone out on purpose. :)

eBook Queue Page

I hope eveyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I must say I did even though I did all the cooking. And there are plenty of leftovers to enjoy for at least a few days. :)

I wanted to mention that I have added an eBook Queue page for those who have requested reviews. You can see where you are in the queue and it is another tool for me to keep track of which book to read next. I have not, at this point in time, managed to finish it though, so if you do not see your book in the queue, don't panic! I hope to get everyone listed in the next few days.

I have also added a Currently Reading eBook gadget next to my other Currently Reading one, so you can see at a quick glance which eBook I am currently reading.

Time to go pick out our Christmas tree then have dinner with friends. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kindle Fire: Part Deux

I'm happy to announce my Kindle Fire is on, well, fire! Ok, not literally, but it is finally registered and I've sideloaded some books and music to it. Since I don't have WiFi here at home I have to sideload everything. I thought that wouldn't be an issue, but I find I'm not patient enough to do it even though it's actually not that hard to do. Jeez, I should have known since I'm famous for having no patience (I grocery shop at 6am just to avoid moronic people, lol). My computer is old and requires a wired network, but I've since discovered we can have a combined wired and wireless network. Yay! That means I just need to get a wireless router that has 4 ports and I'll be surfing the WiFi waves on my Fire. Should be done this week!

As to the problems I was having...I'm not the only one according to the Kindle Fire forums. I had to download a software update to my computer then sideload it to my Fire. After a reboot, my husband, after many tries, was able to connect and get it registered.

Whether it was the upgraded software, the reboot or something Amazon fixed on their end (or any combination thereof) I'll never know. I feel bad for those still experiencing problems while at the same time I'm doing a Happy Dance and glad they can't see it. :)

Kindle Fire!

My Kindle Fire arrived yesterday and I was doing the Happy Dance...until I realized it needed to charge for four hours! Gah!!!!! So, I charged it up, did some chores, fed the kids and sat down to be amazed. Only to find out that you can only register it via the wi-fi. Well, shit! Pardon my French. We don't have wi-fi here at the house and I thought I wouldn't have a problem registering via USB cable. Wrong! How messed up is that? I can sideload my content all day long, BUT only after it's been registered via wi-fi. As my 14-yr-old daughter would say 'Epic Fail!'

Ok, I thought to myself, no problem. I got out of my comfy jammies, put on some sweats and went 2 miles down the road to McDs. They have wi-fi and I could have some sweet tea and a few fries while I register. So, I'm noshing on some fresh-from-the-fryer fries, sipping my tea and navigating the menu on my cool-looking Fire, find where to register, type in the relevant info and tap the 'Register' button. The spinny thing spins...and spins...and spins...and then an error pops up. Can't register. WTF?! I try again. And again. And again. Frustration City!

So...this is my Kindle Fire Journey thus far. I've not even made it out of the driveway. My lovely hubby is going to take it to work later today, where they have wi-fi, and attempt it from there. If he has problems then he has a computer and a phone to call tech support and see if they can fix the problem because it sounds an awful lot like it's a problem on Amazon's end. Maybe, by tonight, I'll have a registered Fire. If not, then I have a $199 paperweight and that's not acceptable. Stay tuned...
